A dispenser actuator assembly () for actuating a dispenser () is disclosed. The dispenser () is in the form of a glass ampoule assembly () having a rupturable glass ampoule () containing a flowable material (M). The glass ampoule () is contained within an outer container () wherein the outer container () has a first open end () and a second closed end (). The glass ampoule assembly () has an applicator () positioned in the first open end (). The dispenser actuator assembly () has a base member () configured to mount on the outer container (). The dispenser actuator assembly () also has an actuator assembly () operably connected to the base member () wherein the actuator assembly () has a first actuator arm () and a second actuator arm () each pivotally connected to the base member (). The first actuator arm () and the second actuator arm () extend from the base member () in generally opposed relation defining a first position, or neutral position. The first actuator arm () has a first protrusion () depending therefrom and the second actuator arm () has a second protrusion () depending therefrom. The first actuator arm () and the second actuator arm () are pivotable from the first position towards one another to a second position, or actuating position, that is configured such that the first protrusion () engages the outer container () and the second protrusion () engages the outer container () to crush the glass ampoule () wherein the flowable material (M) is configured to be dispensed from the glass ampoule assembly ().

Dispenser actuator assembly

A dispenser actuator assembly () has base member () and an actuator arm () that is configured to crush a glass ampoule assembly (). The glass ampoule assembly () has a rupturable glass ampoule () containing a flowable material (M). The glass ampoule () is contained within an outer container (), the outer container () having a first open end () and a second closed end (). The glass ampoule assembly () has an applicator () positioned in the first open end (). The dispenser actuator assembly () has the base member () that is configured to mount on the outer container (). The actuator arm () is pivotally connected to the base member (). The actuator arm () is pivotable from a first position to a second position that is configured to engage the outer container () to crush the glass ampoule () wherein the flowable material (M) is dispensed from the glass ampoule assembly ().

The dispenser () is in the form of a glass ampoule assembly () having a rupturable glass ampoule () containing a flowable material (M). The glass ampoule () is contained within an outer container (). The glass ampoule assembly () has an applicator () positioned in the outer container (). The dispenser actuator assembly () has the base member () that is configured to mount on the outer container (). The actuator assembly () has a first actuator arm () and a second actuator arm () each pivotally connected to the base member (). The membrane () has a thickness and a weld seam () wherein the weld seam () has a thickness less than the thickness of the membrane (). A fracturing mechanism () is operably connected to the container (). The fracturing mechanism () has an extending member () projecting from the outer wall () of the container (). The extending member () has a projection () positioned proximate the membrane (), wherein in response to deflection of the extending member (), the projection () deflects the outer wall () proximate the membrane () wherein the weld seam () fractures creating an opening () through the membrane () configured to allow the flowable material M to pass therethrough and from the dispenser ().

Dispenser and process

A dispenser actuator assembly () actuates a dispenser (). The dispenser () is a plastic ampoule () having a container () having an outer wall () and membrane () collectively defining a first chamber () containing a flowable material (M). The membrane () has a weld seam (). The actuator assembly () has a base member () configured to mount on the container (). A fracturing mechanism () is operably connected to the base member (). The fracturing mechanism () has a first extending member () and a second extending member (), the first extending member () and the second extending member () positioned on the base member () in opposed relation. Each extending member () has a projection () positioned proximate the membrane (). In response to deflection of the extending members () towards one another, the projections () are configured to deflect the outer wall () proximate the membrane () wherein the weld seam () fractures to create an opening through the membrane () to allow the flowable material (M) to pass therethrough.

A dispenser () for dispensing flowable materials has a container () having an outer wall (), a dividing wall () and a membrane () operably connected to define a first chamber (), a second chamber () and a third chamber (). The dividing wall () is connected to the membrane () at an interface (). The first chamber () defines a first volume and is configured to contain a first flowable material (M), and the second chamber () defines a second volume and is configured to contain a second flowable material (M). The membrane () has a first section () having a first rupturable member () and a second section () having a second rupturable member (). The first section () is separated from the second section () by the interface (). The third chamber () is positioned adjacent the membrane () generally opposite the first chamber () and the second chamber (), wherein the third chamber () defines a third volume and is configured to receive the first flowable material (M) and the second flowable material (M) upon rupture of the first rupturable member () and the second rupturable member () wherein a mixture (MX) is formed. The first volume and the second volume are collectively approximately equal to the third volume.
