Aspects of the disclosure relate to performing enhanced exception processing using cognitive automation tools. In some embodiments, a computing platform may receive interaction data identifying one or more actions performed by one or more users in resolving a plurality of exception items associated with an exception queue. Subsequently, the computing platform may train, using a learning engine, a machine learning model to resolve a first exception and a second exception of one or more exceptions based on the interaction data. Based on training the machine learning model, the computing platform may generate one or more configuration commands directing a processing module to implement the machine learning model to process additional exception items associated with the exception queue. The computing platform then may send the one or more configuration commands to the processing module.

Upon retention, the system may continually monitor the documents and store metadata associated with the use of the retained documents. Once the documents are purged, the system compiles historic data points associated with the image quality and data storage metrics. Furthermore, the system extracts the metadata associated with the monitoring of retained documents. These data points and metadata are reviewed to provide revisions in retention parameters for specific documents. A feedback loop directly communicates and integrates the revisions to the metric and criteria for instant integration.

An ATM exception balancing system is disclosed. Embodiments of the invention provide a method of resolving image ATM transaction exceptions and enabling reconcilement of ATM transactions. An exception record can be created and stored for each batch of image ATM transactions wherein the credit and the debit for the batch of image ATM transactions do not match, and the exception record can be displayed to an analyst. Input can be received from the analyst indicating a resolution of an exception. Possible resolutions can include a general ledger entry, a customer adjustment, and/or an ICA/WIP entry.
