Textured and porous organic polymeric films can be obtained by subjecting organic polymeric films that are swellable in carbon dioxide, to supercritical carbon dioxide while such films are under an atmospheric pressure of at least 73 bar and an applied physical force of at least 0.05 Newtons. The textured and porous organic polymeric films have surface wrinkles having an average peak to valley height of at least 1 &#x3bc;m and up to and including 3,000 &#x3bc;m, and a porosity of at least 10%.

Method for providing textured, porous polymeric films

A non-aqueous silver precursor composition contains at least 1 weight % of one or more (a) polymers that are certain cellulosic polymers; (b) reducible silver ions; and (c) an organic solvent medium consisting of: (i) a hydroxylic organic solvent having an &#x3b1;-hydrogen atom and a boiling point at atmospheric pressure of 100-500&#xb0; C., and, optionally, (ii) a nitrile-containing aprotic solvent or a carbonate-containing aprotic solvent different from the (i) organic solvent, each having a boiling point at atmospheric pressure of 100-500&#xb0; C. The (b) reducible silver ions are present in an amount of 0.1-400 weight %, based on the total weight of the one or more (a) polymers. This composition can be used to form silver nanoparticles under silver ion reducing conditions and then applied to various substrates to provide silver nanoparticle patterns.

Silver-containing compositions containing cellulosic polymers

An imaging element has a substrate, an extruded, non-voided compliant layer and an image receiving layer. The extruded, non-voided compliant layer has a heat of fusion of equal to or greater than 0 and up to and including 45 joules/g of compliant layer as determined in a temperature range of from 25&#xb0; C. to 147&#xb0; C. by ASTM method D3418-08 and a tensile modulus value of less than 5&#xd7;10dynes/cm. These imaging elements can be used as thermal dye image transfer receiver elements to provide an image in combination with a thermal dye donor element in a thermal dye transfer process.
