A cementitious composition containing hydraulic cement, water, and a hyper-branched polyether surfactant. An aqueous admixture composition for cementitious compositions including a hyper-branched polyether surfactant, optionally a dispersant, optionally an additional surfactant or defoamer, and optionally a stabilizing agent. A method of making a cementitious composition including mixing cementitious material, water, a hyper-branched polyether surfactant, optionally a dispersant for cementitious compositions, optionally an additional surfactant or defoamer, and optionally a stabilizing agent.

Use of HyperBranched polyether surfactant in cementitious systems

A cementitious composition including cement, water, and a rheology modifying additive (RMA) is provided. The inclusion of the RMA improves the cementitiuous composition's response to vibration, and dampens out differences due to minor fluctuations in initial slump of the composition. The RMA may include a dispersant for cementitiuous compositions. The cementitious composition may optionally include other admixtures or additives known in the industry. A method for making the cementitious composition is also provided.

Rheology modifying additive for cementitious compositions

A dry cast cementitious composition including cement, water, and a rheology modifying additive (RMA) is provided. The inclusion of the RMA improves the dry cast cementitious composition's response to vibration and dampens out differences due to minor fluctuations in initial slump of the composition. The RMA may include a dispersant for the dry cast cementitious compositions. The dry cast cementitious composition may optionally include other admixtures or additives known in the industry. Methods for making the dry cast cementitious composition and dry cast cementitious articles from the composition are also provided.

Rheology modifying additive for dry cast cementitious compositions

A strength improvement admixture composition is provided that increases the compressive strength of cementitious compositions without negatively increasing the setting time. The admixture comprises the components of a polycarboxylate dispersant, a set retarder, and a strength improvement additive.

Strength improvement admixture

Amine solubilizing agents are mixed with water insoluble defoamers and optionally a dispersant for cementitious compositions to provide an admixture for cementitious compositions that is stable over time. A method is provided for controlling the amount of air in a cementitious material in a predictable manner that includes mixing cementitious material, water, a water insoluble defoamer, an amine salt solubilizing agent that solubilizes the water insoluble defoamer, and optionally a dispersant for cementitious compositions.

Solubilized defoamers for cementitious compositions

A strength improvement admixture composition is provided that increases the compressive strength of cementitious compositions without negatively increasing the setting time. The admixture comprises the components of a polycarboxylate dispersant and strength improvement additive.

Amine containing strength improvement admixture

Amine solubilizing agents are mixed with water insoluble defoamers and optionally a dispersant for cementitious compositions to provide an admixture for cementitious compositions that is stable over time. A cementitious composition is provided that includes cementitious material, water, a water insoluble defoamer, optionally a dispersant for cementitious compositions, and an amine solubilizing agent that solubilizes the water insoluble defoamer. A method is provided for making a cementitious composition that includes mixing cementitious material, water, a water insoluble defoamer, an amine solubilizing agent that solubilizes the water insoluble defoamer, and optionally a dispersant for cementitious compositions.

A dry cast article and method for making the same, wherein the dry cast article includes an oligomeric dispersant that is a reaction product of two or three moieties is provided. To make a dry cast article, hydraulic cement, water, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, optionally a surface active agent/air entraining agent, and an oligomeric dispersant are mixed and used to form a dry cast article from the mixture.

Oligomeric dispersant

Solubilizing agents are mixed with water insoluble defoamers and a dispersant for cementitious compositions to provide an admixture for cementitious compositions that is stable over time. Suitable solubilizing agents include alkoxylated moieties or particles. A cementitious composition is provided that includes cement, water, a water insoluble defoamer, a dispersant for cementitious compositions, and a solubilizing agent that solubilizes the water insoluble defoamer. A method is provided for making a cementitious composition that includes mixing cement, water, a water insoluble defoamer, a dispersant for cementitious compositions, and a solubilizing agent that solubilizes the water insoluble defoamer.

The present invention is directed to cementitious dry cast mixtures for forming cementitious articles, particularly a cementitious dry cast mixture containing a dispersant, wherein said dispersant is a derivatized polycarboxylate dispersant which is a polymer comprising units derived from at least a substituted carboxylic acid monomer or substituted ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and optionally including at least one of an unsaturated hydrocarbon, an N-polyoxyalkylene maleimide, and a condensation product of an unsubstituted carboxylic acid monomer and an alkoxypolyoxyalkylene primary amine substituted carboxylic acid monomer. The cementitious dry cast mixture has a reduced effective dose of dispersant; compacts and consolidates in response to vibration energy; reduces the cycle time in the production of articles manufactured from dry cast mixtures; provides for increased green strength, density, and early compressive strength; and improves the surface aesthetics of articles manufactured from dry cast mixtures. Additionally, a surface active agent/air entraining agent can be included in combination with the dispersant to provide for increased swipe effect.

Cementitious dry cast mixture

A cementitious mixture comprises a hydraulic cement; greater than about 10% by weight of a pozzolanic cement replacement selected from fly ash, slag, natural pozzolans, and mixtures thereof, based on the weight of said hydraulic cement and cement replacement; and a compatabilizing admixture, wherein the compatabilizing admixture comprises a compatabilizing derivatized polycarboxylate polymer dispersant capable of acting as a water reducer, in combination with an accelerator. The derivatized polycarboxylate dispersant, alone or in combination with other derivatized polycarboxylate dispersants, is a polymer comprising units derived from at least one of a substituted carboxylic acid monomer and a substituted ethylenically unsaturated monomer, at least one of an N-polyoxyalkylene maleimide and a condensation product of an unsubstituted carboxylic acid monomer and an alkoxypolyoxyalkylene primary amine substituted carboxylic acid monomer, and optionally including an unsaturated hydrocarbon. The derivatized polycarboxylate dispersant provides for a longer shelf life dispersant, improved dispersability of cementitious mixtures, water reduction in cementitious mixtures, and is an effective dispersant in high pozzolan replaced cementitious mixtures.

Cementitious mixture containing high pozzolan cement replacement and compatabilizing admixtures therefor

The present invention is directed to derivatized polycarboxylate dispersants for cementitious mixtures, including those mixtures with high percentages of pozzolan cement replacement and dry cast applications. In particular, the invention is directed to a cementitious mixture comprising cement, including cements with high percentages of pozzolan cement replacement, water, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, and including a dispersant, wherein said dispersant is a derivatized polycarboxylate dispersant, or combination of polycarboxylate dispersants, which is a derivatized polymer comprising a backbone having moieties derived from (a) an unsaturated hydrocarbon; (b) at least one of a substituted carboxylic acid monomer, a substituted ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and maleic anhydride; and (c) optionally including an N-polyoxyalkylene succinimide; and wherein derivative moieties are pendant to the backbone monomer by at least one ester linkage and at least one amide linkage. The derivatized polycarboxylate dispersant provides for a longer shelf life dispersant, improved dispersability of cementitious mixtures, water reduction in cementitious mixtures, and is an effective dispersant in high pozzolan replaced cementitious mixtures.
