An unmanned aerial vehicle based system, method, and computer program product, for inspection and monitoring construction progress of outdoor power facilities. The method can receive a construction plan and schedule identifying milestones for installation at an outdoor construction site of at least one externally placed piece of equipment specified in the construction plan. A machine learning artificial intelligence processing system identifies, from a set of observed aerial images of the outdoor construction site captured by an unmanned aerial vehicle, at least one externally placed piece of equipment in the outdoor construction site. The identified piece of equipment in the construction site is compared to an expected piece of equipment specified in the construction plan. The difference between identified and expected piece of equipment is reported and the construction schedule can be updated based on the difference. An alert is provided if the difference exceeds a threshold.

Unmanned aerial vehicle based system to track solar panel system construction and commissioning

An exoskeleton for installation of solar panels. The exoskeleton includes a central connection structure, at least one leg structure rotatably depending from the central connection structure. Each leg structure has a foot structure depending therefrom to contact a ground surface. At least one arm structure rotatably depends from the central connection structure. At least one solar panel holder depends from an arm structure and releasably holds a solar panel being supported by the arm structure. At least one limb actuator controllably provides forces to rotate the at least one leg structure and the at least one arm structure about the central connection structure to transfer forces from the respective arm supporting the solar panel to the ground surface through the at least one leg structure. A rotatably attached at least one auxiliary tool strut is movably positioned to operate beneath the solar panel as it is mounted onto a support.

Semi-autonomous exoskeleton apparatus for solar panel installation

A controller of a power generation system can control coupling of a photovoltaic (PV) array to an inverter coupled to a power grid. The controller can also monitor an output voltage of a DC energy storage source disconnectedly coupled to the inverter and monitor an output power of the inverter. The controller can also couple the PV array to the DC energy storage source and adjust an effective output voltage of the PV array based on the output voltage of the DC energy storage source to charge the DC energy storage source.
