Disclosed herein are embodiments of a system and method for the dynamic provisioning of static content. In one embodiment, information presented on a content delivery system can be refreshed based on information published on a content management system. One embodiment can interface the content delivery system and the content management system at the page level. More specifically, content dependencies across pages employing the same content or portion(s) thereof can be tracked in a timely, accurate manner. Upon receiving a notification of a change to the content or a portion thereof from the content management system, a content generation system may operate to determine, based on the dependencies, what pages are affected by the change and, based on the determination, dynamically regenerate any and all affected pages. The regenerated pages may then be stored and/or pushed to the web tier for delivery to end users.

System and method for the dynamic provisioning of static content

Systems and methods for managing content items of the type used in Web sites. In accordance with the disclosure, site objects, channel objects and content objects are associated with each other to form a hierarchical site structure. The content objects are linked to corresponding content items in a content repository, and are grouped together by association with channel objects in the site structure. Each of the objects in the site structure has an associated set of content services and can be deployed individually or in combination, while maintaining references to the related objects in the hierarchical site structure.

A method and system disclosed herein can be used to determine relationships between objects, determining which of those relationships are significant for a specific action, and determining physical dependencies between the objects. The method and system can be used to perform actions consistent with integrity constraints, and therefore, performs the actions in the correct order with a reduced likelihood of errors. The method and system are highly beneficial in that they can significantly enhance content management and can be implemented without having to write new or edit existing applications. Also, existing content data and applications may be used without any changes. Depending upon how a page is organized, a fragment may refer to a block within the page, a portion of the page, or a content item presented on the page. When a content item is updated and published onto the content management system, one embodiment can operate to track dependencies of managed pages and invalidate/validate fragment(s) affected by the change(s) accordingly. The updated fragment(s) may then be dynamically assembled on-the-fly or on-demand. The updated fragment(s) may or may not be cached. In this way, changes made to a piece of content can be reflected in all pages which utilize this content almost simultaneously with the changes to the content itself.

System and method for fragment level dynamic content regeneration

One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for implementing a persistence application programming interface (API) that is platform independent and can make up-calls to business logic. During operation, the system receives a request at the API to execute a command at a persistence tier of an n-tier distributed application. In response to the request, the system determines an entity type for an entity affected by the command. Next, the system identifies a function at a middle tier of the n-tier distributed application that is associated with the entity type and the command, wherein the middle tier includes the business logic. The system then sends an instruction to the middle tier to execute the function. Finally, upon receiving a confirmation at the API that the function executed, the system executes the command at the persistence tier.

Method and apparatus for facilitating a persistence application programming interface

One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates diagnostic logging for software components. During operation, the system receives program code for a software component that was generated from an object model, where a key attribute has been specified for the object model. During execution of the program code, the system detects when an instance of the key attribute for the object model is accessed, and attaches state associated with the instance to a thread context in the runtime environment. The system then appends this state to a log during a logging operation to facilitate discovering and analyzing program faults.

A method and system of managing content at a network site can allow easier use by business users. A higher level of abstraction can be used to allow business users to create their own objects that may reference or contain other objects or records as managed by a content management system. Business users do not have to learn programming code in order to work those objects, which are content types. A graphical user interface ('GUI') can be used to help the business users to create, modify, and delete content types. The GUI and the ability for business users to the create content types greatly shortens the time between receiving software to operate a network site and launching content at that network site.

Systems and methods are described which facilitate content management in a network environment. Content types can be modeled by end users based on data usage and automatically generated by a content management system based on a user-defined data model. From these content types, content type objects may be generated. The data may then be examined to acquire a key set, and a content instance object generated for each datum found which matches a content type. This content instance object can then be associated with the datum using one or more key values, saved, and subsequently used to manage the data. These methods and systems allow data to be migrated to a content management system without any modification to the existing data repository or its associated structures.
