A method, of interpolating missing colors in a color filter array comprising red, green and blue photosites comprises determining and interpolation direction for each red and each blue photosite based on local edge information and interpolating a green color for each red and each blue photosite in the determined interpolation direction for that photosite. For each green photosite, red and blue colors are interpolated. For each red photosite, a blue color is interpolated in the determined interpolation direction for that photosite and for each blue photosite, a red color is interpolated in the determined interpolation direction for that photosite.

A method of preserving the structure of a font character being scaled comprises analyzing the font character to determine if the font character is complex. If the font character is complex, information concerning the strokes forming the font character is extracted. The strokes are then scaled to a desired size using the extracted stroke information thereby to form a scaled font character.

A method of fractionally resizing an image comprises locating areas of sensitivity in the image. Adjustment lines in the image are selected at least partially based on the location of the located areas of sensitivity. The image is then resized along the adjustment lines.
