Recorded images having an overlapping scene transformed into a Quantitative Cylispheric Stereo Pair (QCSP) of images. Pixels corresponding to a common scene object point are located in the same or nearly the same horizontal lines in the QCSP of images. The QCSP's produced can take a number of different formats, including traditional stereo pairs, radial stereo pairs, and general case cylispheric stereo pairs. The QCSP's can be used for various three-dimensional imaging processes, including passive volumetric surveying and the production of three-dimensional visualization models.

Visual and spatial position information is collected and processed for the formation of a geographic information database. In addition, the information collected and processed can be used to update the United States Census Bureau TIGER/Line files to improve the accuracy of the files. The present invention relates to a air data sensing probe that has a cylindrical barrel joined to a contoured strut section. The strut has leading and trailing edges formed along curved paths, and supports the cylindrical barrel at a position spaced from a mounting surface and facing upstream of relative air movement. The strut has a rounded leading edge, and is generally ogival-shaped in cross-section. There is a blended, relatively quickly-changing transition section to blend the trailing end of the cylindrical barrel into the ogival-shaped strut section so that the probe has reduced weight of the strut and drag, and through reduction of the cross-sectional area and rounding the strut leading edge, has enhanced anti-icing performance.

A flexible, tent-like structure, which may be entirely suspended above ground between sturdy tie points, encloses an occupant and provides an improved, cot-like sleeping surface. The structure is triangular in cross section and includes ropes running lengthwise of the structure along its three edges. Each of the three edges is concave when the structure is in an unloaded position. A spreader bar at the head of the structure and a triangular spreader frame at the foot of the structure are the only compression elements used. The structure may be tightly closed and a hole in the sleeping surface provides ventilation for breathing.
