A threat assessment and response facilitation system is provided for facilitating communication relating to threat assessment, responding to a traumatic event, and provision of training materials for professionals engaged in threat assessment and trauma response activities. The threat assessment and trauma response facilitation system may include modules such as a threat assessment assistance module, learning portal module, client portal module, response coordination module, training broker module, and messaging module. A method for facilitating communication relating to threat assessment and trauma response using the threat assessment and response facilitation system is also provided.

Systems and methods for biological conversion of carbon dioxide pollutants into useful products

A cup lid for use with a drinking cup containing a liquid, the cup having a base and a sidewall extending upwardly from the base, the sidewall including an inner surface, a top end, and a rim extending along the circumference of the top end. A first part lying in a first plane and having a top surface. Means on said first part for releasably mounting said first part to the top end of the cup to form a substantially liquid tight seal between the cup lid and the cup. A second part depends radially outwardly from said first part and lies in a second plane. A longitudinal axis and a distal end on said second part. Means on the second part for movement relative to said first part. Compartment means is formed between the inner surface of the cup and the second part for allowing liquid in the cup to flow into the compartment and out of the compartment. The second part comprises baffle means for shielding the liquid in the compartment means from substantial interference with most of the liquid outside the compartment means during movement of the cup whereby spillage of liquid out of the cup is minimized. Hinge means on the second part and traversing the second part for preventing the tearing of the second part during the movement of the second part. A tab on said first part for movement from a first position where the tab is mounted on the rim of the cup to prevent the liquid from escaping from the compartment and a second position where the tab is not mounted on the rim to allow the liquid to escape from the compartment. A reservoir located on the bottom surface of the lid and comprising a hollow inside volume which is covered when the tab is in the first position and which is at least partially covered when the tab is in the second position. A structure is on the top surface of the second part which interferes with the flow of the liquid as it moves into the compartment and out of the compartment. A clasp located on the bottom surface of the first part of the cup lid. The clasp comprises means for releasably holding the distal end of the second part when the second part is moved from it second position near the bottom surface of the first part.

Biological reduction of carbon dioxide pollutants systems and methods

Determining flow through a fracture junction in a complex fracture network. A flow of a fracturing fluid through a fracture junction of a complex fracture network is modeled using a fluid flow model that models flow based, in part, on mass balance and momentum balance. The fracture junction includes a first outlet to flow a first portion of the fracturing fluid and a second outlet to flow a second portion of the fracturing fluid. A ratio of a first volumetric flow rate of the first portion and a second volumetric flow rate of the second portion, and the pressure drop across the junction are determined in response to modeling the flow of the fracturing fluid through the fracture junction according to the fluid flow model. The determined ratio of flow rates and/or the determined pressure drop is provided.

Determining flow through a fracture junction in a complex fracture network

A holding sleeve for use with a cup, the cup having a top end and an outer wall and comprising a substantially flat longitudinal and continuous elongated strip. The strip has a first end and a second end. The first end is spaced apart and distant from said second end. Attachment means is on at least either the first end or the second end for connecting the first end to the second end to form a hollow band. The band has a top edge, an inside surface and an outside surface. The band has mounting means on the band for positioning the band onto the cup where the top edge of the band is proximal to the top end of the cup and the inside surface of the band is contiguous to the sidewall of the cup to provide a snug fit between the band and the sidewall. At least one moveable tab on the top edge of the band. The tab has a top part and a bottom part. The top edge of the band has the shape of a first arc and the bottom part of the tab has the shape of a second arc. The first arc and the second arc coincide to form a hinge. The hinge has an apex. The hinge has means for the movement of the tab between a first position, where the tab extends towards the top end of the cup and is in close proximity to the sidewall of the cup and a second position where the tab extends away from the sidewall of the cup and the outer surface of the band. The hinge also has engagement means for exerting sufficient pressure against the sidewall of the cup when concomitant pressure is applied against the tab when the tab is in the second position to substantially restrict the movement of the tab to the first position. The tab has support means for holding the cup when the tab is in the second position where the shape of the top part, when the tab is in the second position, conforms to the curvature of the hinge.

This disclosure relates to a method of preparing polyamide particles. The method include spray drying a solution containing a polyamide to form polyamide particles having an average diameter of between about 0.5 &#x3bc;m and about 10 &#x3bc;m and at least about 85% of the polyamide particles having a diameter distribution of no more than about 1.5 &#x3bc;m.

The cup lid comprises a first part lying in a first plane and having a top surface and a center axis, means on said first part for releasably mounting the first part to the top end of the cup to form a substantially liquid tight seal between the cup lid and the cup, a second part depending radially outwardly from the first part and lying in a second plane, the second part having means for movement relative to the first part, compartment means between the cup and the cup lid for bifurcating the liquid in the cup into one portion and a second portion, the one portion comprising means for facilitating the flow of liquid into the compartment means and the second portion for facilitating the flow of liquid out of the compartment means, the first part and the second part further comprise aperture means for permitting the liquid contained in said one portion to flow out of the compartment means and out of the drinking cup. The second part comprises baffle means for substantially shielding the liquid in the one portion from substantial interference with the liquid in the second portion during any lateral movement of the cup whereby any spillage of the liquid out of the cup is substantially minimized.

An apparatus and method for controlling the data flow between a client computer and a diskless server is provided in which the diskless server inserts delays into the replies sent in response to the data requests of the client computer. The inserted delays prevent the client computer from terminating the communications session between the client computer and the diskless server because a time-out interval is exceeded. The diskless server may be a software-based print server stored in the memory of a printer. The delays are inserted into a reply when the amount of data in a buffer in the diskless server exceeds a predetermined threshold.
