This application provides, among other things, novel aqueous biphasic oral care compositions comprising two distinct aqueous phases, useful for combining and delivering poorly compatible ingredients, for example to deliver effective levels of cationic antibacterial agents in combination with anionic polymers, e.g. that protect against erosion and staining, by addition of a stabilizing amount of a polyamine, e.g. lysine, and methods for making and using the same.

This invention relates to a dual phase mouthwash comprising a hydrophilic phase, a hydrophobic phase, and a hydrotrope, wherein the hydrophilic phase comprises an effective amount of a preservative selected from potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, benzyl alcohol, and a combination thereof, and CPC and a monovalent acid, as well as to methods of using and of making such compositions.

The invention relates to methods of making films having active ingredients. A film that is substantially free of active ingredient is introduced into a medium comprising an active ingredient. At least a portion of the active ingredient is transferred from the medium to the film. The films can be used in a variety of applications, including oral care, personal care, cleansing and/or home care compositions.

The oral composition preferably contains a tooth hardening proportion of a source of fluoride ions, an anti-tartar proportion of a polyphosphate, a stabilizing proportion (in conjunction with the fluoride source) for the polyphosphate, of a polyvinyl methyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer, and normal adjuvants for the oral preparation. A method for inhibiting development of plaque on teeth is also within the invention, as is a cleaning article containing an effective amount of the invented dentifrice.
