A container system of this invention includes a container for holding a fluid, a follower in the container which moves in the container in response to a change in a level of fluid in the container, and a sensor assembly for sensing the level of fluid in the container. The sensor assembly is especially (albeit not exclusively) suited for viscous fluids.

Container system

A lubricating system for delivering charges of lubricant and air for aerifying the lubricant to multiple points of lubrication. The system comprises a series of air-operated lubricant injectors each of which is operable in response to delivery thereto of operating air to deliver a charge of lubricant. The injectors are organized in a row in engagement with one another. Each injector has a lubricant passage extending through it, the lubricant passages in the injectors being in end-to-end communication with one another to form a lubricant manifold extending through the row for receiving lubricant and charging the injectors. Each injector also has first and second air passages therein, the first air passages being in end-to-end communication with one another and forming a first air manifold for receiving injector operating air and delivering it for operating the injectors, and the second air passages also being in end-to-end communication with one another and forming a second air manifold for receiving air for aerifying the charge of lubricant delivered by the injectors.

Modular lubricating system and injector

A cap assembly for covering an injector of a lubricant metering device to sealingly protect the injector from moisture and dirt. The injector has a generally cylindric body and an end structure narrower than the body projecting endwise from the body. The assembly has a cap including a generally cylindric tube having a side wall, an open end, a closed end and a configuration such that the cap is shaped and sized for detachable mounting on the body of the injector in a covering position in which the tube encloses the end structure of the injector. A flexibly resilient gasket has an annular shape with an inner edge sized for surrounding the end structure to enable the gasket to be sealingly secured to the structure and an outer edge sized for engaging an inner surface of the side wall of the cap and forming a fluid-tight seal thereon when the cap is mounted in its covering position. The gasket holds the cap in generally fixed position relative to the injector and further prevents passage of moisture or dirt therepast. The gasket has at least one notch in the outer edge for permitting passage of air through the notch to prevent build-up of air pressure in the cap as the cap is mounted on the injector.

Cap seal for lubricant injector

An automatic lubrication system comprising a series of divider valves operable periodically through a cycle in which charges of lubricant are delivered one after another in sequence to a plurality of points of lubrication, the valves being supplied with lubricant from a reservoir holding a supply of lubricant under pressure via an on-off control valve, the latter being controlled by a timer operable on receiving a timing start signal to time out an OFF period during which the control valve is closed, and having a sensor device responsive to completion of a cycle of operation to send a timing start signal to the timer, the supply of lubricant under pressure in the reservoir serving as both a power source for the operation of the valves and as a source of lubricant for delivery to the points of lubrication.

Automatic lubrication system

A frangible male coupling component for sealingly coupling a conduit to a fluid delivery device of the type having a female coupling component with a threaded axial passage therethrough and an internal camming surface in the passage. The male coupling component has an integral tubular body of one-piece construction sized to coaxially receive the conduit to be coupled. The tubular body has an axial inner ferrule portion engageable with the camming surface, an axial outer screw portion, and an annular frangible portion integrally connecting the ferrule and screw portions. The frangible portion is designed to break on rotation of the screw portion when the ferrule portion is in engagement with the camming surface, with continued rotation of the screw portion in the first direction effecting relative axial movement of the screw portion relative to the ferrule portion to a point where the screw portion presses the ferrule portion against the internal camming surface, thereby causing the ferrule portion to deform radially inwardly to form a seal around the conduit. The frangible portion is configured to break into separate parts attached to the screw and ferrule portions, the parts being engageable with one another to inhibit separation of the screw and ferrule portions in the event the male coupling component is removed from the female coupling component.

Frangible male coupling component

A hydraulic valve mechanism for a hydraulic motor having a cylinder and a piston reciprocating therein, comprising a valve block having a valve face, a main and an auxiliary central exhaust ports, two main feed ports on opposite sides of the main exhaust port, and two auxiliary feed ports on opposite sides of the auxiliary exhaust port. A valve chest is sealed over the valve face and has aligned piston-receiving bores at its opposite ends, a chamber for pressurized hydraulic fluid between the bores and a valve-actuating piston slideable in the bores. A main D-valve and an auxiliary D-valve operable by the valve-actuating piston move within the chamber in sliding sealing engagement with the valve face. The main D-valve covers and uncovers the main exhaust port and main feed ports to control the reciprocation of the motor piston. The auxiliary D-valve covers and uncovers the auxiliary exhaust port and auxiliary feed ports which communicate with closed ends of the bores to control the position of the valve-actuating piston and the main D-valve. The auxiliary D-valve is so formed in relation to the auxiliary feed ports that it does not completely block hydraulic fluid flow through either one of the auxiliary feed ports at any position along its line of motion, thereby preventing hydraulic lock.
