A sealing valve is provided for a sensor that includes a sensing element and a sensor opening that exposes the sensing element. The sealing valve includes a housing that is configured to be mounted to the sensor such that an internal channel of the housing fluidly communicates with the sensor opening. The sealing valve includes a float element configured to float along a surface of the liquid. The float element is configured to move within the internal channel between an open position and a closed position. The float element is configured to close the sensor opening to the internal channel in the closed position. The sensor opening is open to the internal channel when the float element is in the open position. The float element is configured to rise with the surface of the liquid within the internal channel toward the closed position.

Sealing valve for a sensor

A personal multimedia communication system and network for emergency services personnel includes a plurality of personal communication systems linked together and to a base station in a network. Each personal communication system includes a PDA device mounted on a PASS control console, a video camera mounted on the PDA device, a GPS unit, a microphone, and other electronic devices. The various electronic devices are all communicatively connected to the PDA device. Data from the various devices may be collected in the PDA device and wirelessly transmitted to any other node or device in the network, including other personal communication devices. Each personal communication device may serve as a repeater, thus providing a wireless communications link between a device located out of range of the base station.

A sealing valve is provided for a sensor that includes a sensing element and a sensor opening that exposes the sensor element. The sealing valve includes a housing that is configured to be mounted to the sensor such that an internal channel of the housing fluidly communicates with the sensor opening. The sealing valve includes a float element configured to float along a surface of the liquid. The float element is configured to move within the internal channel between an open position and a closed position. The float element is configured to close the sensor opening to the internal channel in the closed position. The sensor opening is open to the internal channel when the float element is in the open position. The float element is configured to rise with the surface of the liquid within the internal channel toward the closed position.

A connector mechanism for safely and quickly attaching or detaching a sensor. The connector mechanism includes a sensor head assembly comprising a detector body with an internal channel, an open distal end, and a sensor head attachment connector (HAC) located within the channel. The HAC includes a first electrical connection having at least a first contact member and a first key component located in a fixed location relative to the first contact member. The connector mechanism includes a sensor cartridge comprising a cartridge housing with a probe component, a second electrical connection having at least a second contact member configured to mate with the first contact member, and a second key component that is located in a fixed location relative to the second contact member. The first and second key components engage one another before the first and second contact members engage one another.

Connector mechanism for a sensor

A detector head assembly of a sensor includes a detector body having an internal channel extending a longitudinal length. The detector body is configured to hold a sensor cartridge that includes a sensing element. The detector head assembly includes a wire having a conductor. The wire extends into the internal channel of the detector body such that an end of the conductor is configured to be operatively connected to the sensing element. The detector head assembly includes a wire seal having a generally pliable sealant held within the internal channel of the detector body. The generally pliable sealant is configured to be longitudinally compressed along the longitudinal length of the internal channel during assembly of the detector head assembly such that the generally pliable sealant moves into and fills one or more voids between the wire and the detector body for sealing the wire to the detector body.
