The present invention provides preferred, preferably liquid, hard surface cleaning compositions, compositions with cleaning liquid composition on a substrate, compositions used with absorbent pads and implements and devices for making the process of cleaning hard surfaces and/or maintaining their appearance and hygiene easier and more effective. These compositions, along with specific instructions for use are advantageous for removal of and/or prevention of buildup of soils commonly encountered on floors, glass surfaces, counters, walls, showers and/or tubs, said compositions comprising hydrophilic polymers to render the cleaned surface hydrophilic and to improve the appearance when the surface is either not rinsed, or when the composition is incompletely removed, specific surfactant, preferably surfactant selected to minimize spotting/filming, optionally specific organic cleaning solvents to provide cleaning and wetting particularly in applications where levels of non-volatiles need to be minimized, and, optionally, anti-bacterial agents for preserving or surface activity and optionally perfumes for aesthetics.

Pre-moistened wipes

Multi-layer substrates for a premoistened wipe capable of controlled fluid release comprise a reservoir layer and a surface contact layer, wherein the reservoir and surface contact layers have certain blends of hydrophilic and hydrophobic fibers, as well as certain basis weights. Premoistened wipes for treating and/or cleaning a surface comprise the multi-layer substrate and a liquid composition impregnated into the multi-layer substrate, wherein the liquid composition comprises a surfactant system and/or a solvent system. Methods of treating and/or cleaning a surface comprise the step of contacting the surface with a premoistened wipe of the present invention.

Hard surface cleaning pre-moistened wipes

HARD SURFACE CLEANING COMPOSITIONS, PREMOISTENED WIPES, METHODS OF USE, AND ARTICLES COMPRISING SAID COMPOSITIONS OR WIPES AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE RESULTING IN EASIER CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE, IMPROVED SURFACE APPEARANCE AND/OR HYGIENE UNDER STRESS CONDITIONS SUCH AS NO-RINSE

Compositions described herein are aqueous detergent compositions, preferably hard surface cleaning compositions, which contain a flexible lamellar sheet phase dispersed in the aqueous phase. The compositions are viscous, provide excellent soap scum and hard water properties and are easy to rinse. Such compositions are formulated by using an alkylaryl detergent composition in combination with an alcohol and/or cationic surfactant, together with a hydrotropic solvent, in an acidic system further optionally comprising a peroxide.

Aqueous cleaning compositions in dispersed lamellar phase

Compositions described herein are aqueous detergent compositions, preferably hard surface cleaning compositions, which contain alkyl aryl sulfonate surfactant, selected hydrophobic cleaning solvent, polycarboxylic acid, and aqueous solvent system in solution and/or a micellar phase, the pH being from about 2 to about 4. The have excellent soap scum removal and hard water deposit removal properties and are easy to rinse. Such compositions optionally contain additional anionic sulfate surfactant, cationic surfactant, peroxide and/or hydrophilic polymer for additional benefits.

Acidic aqueous cleaning compositions

Toilet bowl detergent compositions, preferably blocks of the 'in-tank' or 'rim-block' types, contain a cleaning system comprising: detergent surfactant of the amphoteric type, preferably zwitterionic, more preferably one that contains a carboxylate group and a cationic group, and even more preferably a fatty acid amidoalkylene betainc, and polycarboxylate chelating agent, preferably, citric acid, or similar polycarboxylic acid, are combined with some means of creating the desired concentration of the cleaning system in the toilet bowl water, preferably by means of blocks with a dissolution retarding system, preferably with the dissolution retarding system comprising a combination of water soluble cellulosic polymer, more preferably hydroxyethyl cellulose or hydroxypropyl cellulose and, polyethylene glycol containing polymer, any perfume present being selected to be mostly hydrophobic. The compositions have a pH, in use, of from about 4 to about 9 and the blocks are preferably extremely homogeneous. Processes for keeping toilet bowls clean are disclosed.
