In a submersible camera housed within a spherical, transparent enclosure with instrumentation for driving the camera to different positions in photographing underwater activity, a cleaning arm is mounted on the external surface of the enclosure and is magnetically driven either by single or multiple drive magnets driven around an interior circular wall of the enclosure; and in the case of multiple drive magnets the cleaning arm has slave magnets in alignment with one or more drive magnets of opposite polarity to cause the cleaning arm to traverse the external surface of the enclosure at periodic intervals one or more cycles each time that the drive magnets are activated.

A faucet-mounted water filtration device includes a gate valve that is used to select between discharge options. The gate valve contains a thumb rest which is configured to allow manual valve actuation while supportedly engaging a user's thumb. First discharge option includes a conventional bottom discharge into a sink. A second discharge option exists as a water fountain that is formed as a compact, integral feature of the water filtration device. A flow indicator permits a user to check whether the filtration cartridge is working properly.

An efficient, low pressure drop biocide cartridge is provided for destroying viral and bacterial pathogens in water from untreated water sources along a lengthened flow pathway including a critical plenum for controlling the speed of water throughput. In a first pathway, water is percolated through a turbulatable bed of biocidally-effective material. In flow pathway, channeling and pressure drop are reduced by radial flow across a columnar bed presenting a large surface area at an outer diameter. The cartridge may be connected with a lightweight hand-held pump. A sealing strap is provided for wet storage of any biocide cartridge.
