A system displays a tree of class icons in a model region. While displaying the tree, the system detects a first portion of an input to place a candidate class icon in the model region. In response, the system (i) identifies a neighboring class icon, in the tree of class icons, that is nearest to the candidate class icon, where the neighboring class icon is circumscribed by a revealer region, and (ii) when the location of the candidate class icon is outside the revealer region, displaying a tentative connector, between the candidate class icon and the neighboring class icon. The system detects a second portion of the user input. In response to the detection, the system presents options for user selection of JOIN fields, including displaying a first data field selection list for the candidate class icon and a second data field selection list for the neighboring class icon.

Using visual cues to validate object models of database tables

A method visualizes object models for data sources. The device displays, in an object model visualization region, a first visualization of a tree of data object icons, each data object icon representing a logical combination of one or more tables. The device also displays recommendations for one or more data sources to add objects to the tree. While displaying the first visualization in the object model visualization region, the device detects a first input on a first data object icon of the tree of data object icons. In response to detecting the first input on the first data object icon, the device displays a second visualization of the tree of the data object icons in a first portion of the object model visualization region and displays a third visualization of information related to the first data object icon in a second portion of the object model visualization region.

Systems and methods for visualizing object models of database tables

Embodiments are directed to a display engine that provides a graphical user interface (GUI) that includes a graph panel and a visualization panel may be generated. The graph panel may receive graph related inputs or interactions. Graph information based on the graph related inputs or interactions and a data source may be generated. A graph model based on the graph information and the data source may be generated. Elements that correspond to objects in the graph model or relationships in the graph model may be displayed in the graph panel. The graph information and the graph model may be employed to execute a query that provides a data model based on results of the query. The data model may be employed to provide a visualization that is displayed in the display panel.

A computer displays data sources associated with tables of data. The computer also displays a tree of data object icons, each representing a logical combination of tables. While displaying the data sources and the data object icons, the computer detects a portion of an input on a candidate data object icon. In response, the computer determines linking fields corresponding to a neighboring data object icon and linking fields corresponding to the candidate object icon. The computer displays options for a user to select linking fields. In response to detecting selection of linking fields, the computer validates the selection and/or updates the tree of data object icons based on the selected linking fields.

A computer displays data sources associated with tables of data. The computer also displays data object icons, each representing a logical combination of tables. While displaying the data sources and the data object icons, the computer detects a portion of an input on a table. In response, the computer generates a candidate data object icon corresponding to the table. The computer also detects another portion of the input on the candidate data object icon. In response, the computer moves the candidate object icon towards the data object icons, while providing a visual cue connecting the candidate object icon to a neighboring data object icon. The computer detects yet another portion of the input, and, in response, displays a connection between the candidate object icon and the neighboring data object icon, and updates the tree of the one or more data object icons to include the candidate data object icon.

Systems and methods for visually building an object model of database tables

A method visualizes object models for data sources is performed at an electronic device. The device displays, in an object model visualization region, a first visualization of a tree of data object icons, each data object icon representing a logical combination of one or more tables. While concurrently displaying the first visualization in the object model visualization region, the device detects, in the object model visualization region, a first input on a first data object icon of the tree of data object icons. In response to detecting the first input on the first data object icon, the device displays a second visualization of the tree of the data object icons in a first portion of the object model visualization region and displays a third visualization of information related to the first data object icon in a second portion of the object model visualization region.

A system and method for implementing an efficient and easy to user interface for a touch screen device. A cursor may be placed by a user using simple inputs. The device operates places the cursor coarsely and refines the cursor placement upon further input from the user. Text may be selected using a gripper associated with the cursor. The user interface allows text selection without occluding the text being selected with the user's finger or the gripper. For selecting text in a multi-line block of text, a dynamic safety zone is implemented to simplify text selection for the user.

Utilizing a scrollbar handle for both zooming and panning a display comprising items in a user interface may be accomplished by monitoring an input device's interaction with the scrollbar handle. If the scroll handle is dragged in a direction away from an orientation of the scroll handle in the scrollbar, a display area zoom function can be activated. The zoom function allows a viewbox, comprising content, to be rescaled as a function of the distance the scroll handle is dragged. A displaybox can be created that distinguishes an area of the viewbox from the remainder of the display, which corresponds to content in the viewbox that would be displayed in normal zoom if the scroll handle were released at that location. Further, upon detecting that the scroll handle is released, the display area can zoom to a view of the content inside the distinguished area.

The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates servicing a portion of a trade card via a web service. A web service can provide a portion of data to enhance a trade card, wherein the portion of data is at least one of a portion of trade card document-specific data, an intelligent gadget, or a feed driven component. A build component can leverage the web service to utilize the portion of data with the trade card.

Embodiments are disclosed that relate to display of filtered data via ordered values. One embodiment provides for filtering a collection of items via a range of ordered values associated with a rule user interface object. Upon receiving an adjustment to the rule interface object which changes the range, the collection is filtered to display selected items corresponding to that updated range. Further, based on a comparison between the updated range and a threshold, display of the rule may be updated to display values associated with a different granularity level.

The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates communicating intent-related data to a user. A display engine can enable exploration of a portion of image data during a browsing session. An intent component can receive a portion of data related to the browsing session, wherein the portion of data is at least one of a collection of browsing history or a portion of data displayed during a browsing session. The intent component can further evaluate the portion of data to ascertain a combined intent of a user. A selective ad component can infer an incompleteness of the combined intent to trigger a pre-qualification for an offer related to at least one of an item or service that fulfills the incompleteness.

Embodiments are disclosed that relate to exposing metadata relationships through filter interplay. One embodiment provides a method comprising filtering a collection of items according to a first and a second metadata category to form an original subset of items that comprise metadata values for each of the categories. The method further comprises displaying a first and a second interactive filter view illustrating the original subset arranged according to their respective metadata values. The method further comprises receiving user input modifying an original range of metadata values of the first metadata category to form a modified range, determining a modified subset of items that comprise metadata values of the first metadata category falling within the modified range and that also comprise metadata values of the second metadata category, and modifying the second interactive filter view to illustrate the modified subset.

The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates simulating a portion 2-dimensional (2D) data for implementation within a 3-dimensional (3D) virtual environment. A 3D virtual environment can enable a 3D exploration of a 3D image constructed from a collection of two or more 2D images, the 3D image is constructed by combining the two or more 2D images based upon a respective image perspective. An analyzer can evaluate the collection of two or more 2D images to identify a portion of the 3D image that is unrepresented by the combined two or more 2D images. A synthetic view generator can create a simulated synthetic view for the portion of 3D image that is unrepresented, the simulated synthetic view replicates a 2D image with a respective image perspective for the unrepresented portion of 3D image.
