An eye diagram analyzer assigns a plurality of SUT data signals to be members of a labeled group of channels. There may be a plurality of such groups. In addition to mere superposition in an (X, Y) display space of the various i-many (X, Y)-valued pixels for individual component eye diagrams associated with that group, other measured data for those pixels within a group can be merged in various different modes to produce corresponding composite eye diagram presentations. E.g., in a Normalized Signal Density Mode the number of hits at each trial measurement point is summed over all channels in the group, and then divided by the total number of clock cycles measured for the i measurement point in that group to produce a density D associated with the corresponding i pixel: (X , Y , D ). If D is rendered as a color or an intensity, the resulting eye diagram includes a representation (the D ) of a normalized density of transitions at each point (X , Y ), relative to that group as a whole. As a further example, in a Channel Density Mode, each D is produced by accumulating, for each of N-many channels, a 1/N for each sample (value of i) with non-zero signal activity, and dividing the accumulation by N. If that collection of D is rendered as a color or an intensity, the resulting composite eye diagram includes a representation (the D ) at each (X , Y ) point of the degree of coincidence among, or a degree of similarity between, the channels in the group.

Systems and methodologies for use in signal measurement systems that acquire and store signal data in accordance with a trigger specification. In particular, the present invention is directed to a hardware resource allocator that is interposed between the signal acquisition hardware of a logic analyzer and the user interface on which a signal measurement specification model is presented to the operator. The hardware resource allocator translates the measurement requirements as specified by the user on the user interface to commands for allocation and control of the appropriate combination of hardware resources. Generally, the hardware resource allocator allocates and configures the requisite hardware resources and translates the measurement specification to hardware control data used by software drivers to program the signal acquisition hardware resources. Importantly, the hardware resource allocator separates the logic analyzer hardware from the trace measurement specification model presented to the operator on the user interface. The hardware resource allocator translates the measurement requirements provided by the user interface model to the appropriate combinations of commands and data appropriate for the signal acquisition hardware architecture.

An eye diagram analyzer can assign a plurality of SUT data signals to be members of a labeled group of channels. There may be a plurality of such groups. The measured data for components within a group can be merged according to various different modes into a composite eye diagram presentation. When a composite eye diagram is being displayed, the operator may position a screen pointer (cursor) over some interesting part of the eye diagram, and the analyzer will display a list those channels that contributed to the displayed pixels in that part of the eye diagram, as well as other related information. The operator may also select a channel from among the group, and then have the displayed pixels for which it is responsible be displayed in a selected color or otherwise highlighted in a way that allows them to be distinguished from all others.

An integrated trigger function display system and methodology for trigger definition development in a signal measurement system having a graphical user interface. The system contemporaneously displays one or more trigger function names and an associated trigger function descriptor describing a trigger function identified by the associated trigger function name. The trigger name is displayed in a trigger name display region of a display window that concurrently displays a plurality of trigger function names. The descriptor is displayed in a trigger descriptor region of the display window so as to be visually-associated by the operator. A trigger definition is comprised of one or more trigger functions. Each trigger function is a graphical representation of an one or more underlying trigger primitives. A trigger primitive is a computer program statement that is translated into a form suitable for controlling the signal measurement system. Trigger primitives comprise one or more trigger branches used to form a sequence level of the trigger definition. For a selected trigger function, either the trigger function or its underlying trigger primitives are displayed in a trigger definition region of the display window for editing by the operator. Preferably, multiple such trigger functions or primitives may be selected and displayed simultaneously or sequentially to form a desired trigger definition.

Integrated trigger function display system and methodology for trigger definition development in a signal measurement system having a graphical user interface

A plurality of redundant rows/columns are added to a semiconductor memory array wherein each redundant row/column is located at a predetermined location in the memory array so as to divide the memory into equal sectors. Switches are utilized to connect the memory columns and rows and redundant memory columns and rows to row select, write circuitry, and read circuitry so that in the presence of a defective row or column, switches can be activated to remove the defective row or column from the array and to interconnect the remaining rows and columns in a predetermined adjacent pattern of interconnection. The controls for the switches comprise shift registers which are fully programmable and reprogrammable so that even through the memory array is configured to remove defective rows or columns at the point of manufacture, in the event of future defects occurring in the field, the shift registers can be reprogrammed to avoid future defective rows or columns.
