Various embodiments of a device for tensioning an apparatus for fusion, stabilization, and/or fixation of bones are disclosed. In one embodiment, a device for tensioning an orthopedic device is provided, the device comprising: a screw drive; a screw gear; a body portion comprising a first cam lever and a second cam lever; and a cable operatively connected to the orthopedic device and operatively connected to the body portion; wherein rotation of the screw gear causes translation of the screw drive.

Device for tensioning apparatus for fusion, stabilization, and/or fixation of bones

A stabilization apparatus for reaming bone elements includes an outer sleeve having support rod apertures. Support rods are configured to extend through the support rod apertures and into one or more bone elements to secure the outer sleeve to the bone elements. An inner sleeve is movable axially into the outer sleeve, and rotationally relative to the outer sleeve, when the outer sleeve is secured to the bone elements by the support rods. The apparatus further includes means for releasably blocking movement of the inner sleeve axially out of the outer sleeve, while permitting rotation of the inner sleeve relative to the outer sleeve, when the outer sleeve is secured to the bone elements by the support rods.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for reaming bone elements

The present invention relates generally to the field of sensors for beam imaging and, in particular, to a new and useful beam imaging sensor for use in determining, for example, the power density distribution of a beam including, but not limited to, an electron beam or an ion beam. In one embodiment, the beam imaging sensor of the present invention comprises, among other items, a circumferential slit that is either circular, elliptical or polygonal in nature. In another embodiment, the beam imaging sensor of the present invention comprises, among other things, a discontinuous partially circumferential slit. Also disclosed is a method for using the various beams sensor embodiments of the present invention.
