A blood pressure cuff is defined by a first sheet, having an opening, and a second sheet. The second sheet is attached to a bottom of the first sheet to form an interior inflatable portion between the first sheet and the second sheet, with the opening of the first sheet fluidly interconnecting the interior inflatable portion with an exterior of the cuff. The blood pressure cuff is made from a single type of material and can be recycled, biodegradable, or composted.

An intraoral dental instrument includes an elongate handle or body and a mirror that is releasably attachable to a distal end thereof. An LED housing disposed in the handle proximate a light entrance surface of the mirror includes a housing body sized to retain at least one LED and a reflector attached to a distal end of the housing body. The reflector has an inwardly tapered cavity covering a LED lens envelope for focusing illumination from the at least one LED onto a portion of the light entrance surface of the mirror.

A lamp assembly includes a condensing lens group disposed at one end for collecting and collimating a light from a light source, an exit lens group at the other end of the assembly, including at least one objective lens element for projecting an illuminated light spot at a predetermined distance, and an iris disposed between the condenser lens group and the exit lens group having a variable opening for varying the size of the illuminated light spot between a minimum and a maximum spot diameter at the predetermined distance. The invention allows the illuminated light spot to be focused for at least two separate iris positions at the predetermined distance by allowing relative movement between the objective lens element and the iris to provide enhanced edge definition and illumination uniformity.

A sheath or cover for a laparoscope insertion tube comprises a generally rigid cylindrical wall with a face plate disposed at its distal tip. A grip mechanism at the proximal end of the rigid cylindrical wall is twisted to grip the insertion tube when the sheath is slipped onto it. An elongated tubular drape is formed of a flexible membrane, such as polyethylene film, which is folded back and forth axially on the sheath. A distal end of the drape is attached to the grip mechanism, and a proximal end is bonded to a rigid or semi-rigid tubular oversleeve. The drape is extended proximally for surgery to cover the handle and umbilical of the laparoscope. After the surgical procedure the drape is extended distally. This uncovers the umbilical and handle as well as the grip mechanism, and covers the rigid cylindrical wall of the sheath. This also inverts the drape so that all contaminated surfaces are facing inward.
