Methods and devices for mounting a sensor are presented herein. A temperature sensor assembly for a capacitor bank is disclosed that includes two opposing substrates, and a plurality of contact temperature sensors attached to each substrate. Each temperature sensor is configured to directly contact a surface of one of the capacitor cans in the capacitor bank and therefrom generate a signal indicative of the temperature of the capacitor can. A biasing member attaches the two substrates together. The biasing member is configured to selectively contract, such that the width of the sensor assembly is less than the gap distance between adjacent sets of tandem capacitor cans and the sensor assembly can insert between the sets of capacitor cans, and expand, such that the width of the sensor assembly is greater than the gap distance and the sensor assembly is tensioned against and thereby secured between the sets of capacitor cans.

Sensor mounting methodology

Systems, methods and devices for monitoring temperature are presented herein. A method of monitoring temperature in a system, such as a capacitor bank, is disclosed. The method may include: receiving first device temperature signals indicative of the temperature of a first device over a predetermined period of time; receiving second device temperature signals indicative of the temperature of a second device over a predetermined period of time; determining a first rolling average temperature for the predetermined period of time from the first device temperature signals; determining a second rolling average temperature for the predetermined period of time from the second temperature signals; and triggering a disconnect event in response to a determination that either the first or the second rolling average temperature is greater than a predetermined maximum working temperature.

Differential temperature monitoring of electrical devices

A system for mounting and retaining an electronic device in an opening in a door or panel comprises a power monitoring device for monitoring characteristics of the power transmitted through one or more power lines. An apparatus is coupled to the power monitoring device and is adapted to secure the power monitoring device within the panel opening by engaging at least one surface of the panel. The power monitoring device may include a meter base and a display module. The combined meter base/display module assembly or remote-mounted display module may be mounted and retained in the door or panel opening.

Apparatus and methods for mounting and retaining power monitoring systems

An electrical enclosure system for transferring heat from a closed environment, includes an electrical device having a heat-generating part, and a polymer-based ventless housing for protecting the electrical device from environmental contaminants. The ventless housing fully encloses the electrical device and includes a base layer forming an impact-resistant portion of the ventless housing. The base layer includes one or more open areas in close proximity to the heat-generating part. The ventless housing further includes an integrated thermally conductive layer that forms a heat-flow path for conducting heat away from the heat-generating part towards an exterior environment. The integrated thermally conductive layer is molded around the base layer such that portions of the integrated thermally conductive layer cover the open areas of the base layer.

A metering module for use in a power circuit monitoring system including a circuit monitor having a processor for processing data related to power signals, said metering module comprising at least one sensor for sensing a predetermined property of a power signal and for producing a corresponding sensor signal, and a modular metering circuit for producing data corresponding to said sensor signal for input into said circuit monitor, wherein said metering module is selectively detachable and replaceable relative to said circuit monitor to permit one or more of testing, calibration and repair of said metering module thereby minimizing any interruption in operation of said circuit monitor.
