Example bicycle suspension components and control devices are described herein. An example shock absorber includes a damper body defining a first chamber and a reservoir defining a second chamber. A flow path is defined between the first chamber and the second chamber. The example shock absorber also includes a flow control member disposed in the flow path and a motor to operate the flow control member to affect fluid flow between the first chamber and the second chamber.

Bicycle suspension components and electronic control devices

A valve for a suspension damping system having a valve body and a shim valve assembly that permits fluid flow in two directions. The valve body separates a first fluid chamber from a second fluid chamber and has at least one fluid port therethrough between the first and second chambers. The shim valve assembly is coupled to the valve body and configured to control fluid flow across the valve body. The shim valve assembly includes a first shim having at least one fluid port and a second shim configured to seal the first shim fluid port. The first and second shims are flexible in a first direction under fluid pressure to permit fluid flow between the first and second fluid chambers, providing a first resistance to fluid flow. The second shim seals fluid flow through the first shim fluid port during flow in the first direction. The second shim is flexible in a second direction under fluid pressure to permit fluid flow between first and second fluid chambers, providing a second resistance to fluid flow. The second shim permits fluid flow through the first shim fluid port during flow in the second direction.

Suspension damping valve

A bicycle suspension system that includes an indicator for displaying the travel of a bicycle suspension system in response to an applied load. The system includes an inner tube telescopically engaging with the outer tube along an axis. A biasing mechanism biases the inner and outer tube apart from each other along the axis. The indicator is disposed along a length of the inner and outer tubes. The indicator may include a plurality of markings on the inner tube and a pointer on the outer tube. Each marking corresponds to a distance that the inner and outer tubes may be displaced relative to each other. The suspension system may include an adjustment mechanism that adjusts the distance the inner and outer tubes may be displaced relative to each other in response to an applied load. The rider may select the desired travel by actuating the adjustment mechanism to align the marking corresponding to the desired travel with the pointer. The indicator allows the rider to easily determine and select the travel of the suspension system without having to use a separate measuring device.
