An orthopedic implant with an inferior portion having a tibia contact surface configured to extend over a tibia; a superior portion opposite to the inferior portion having a tendon contact surface configured to change a position of a patellar tendon by lifting or tilting the patellar tendon when the curved surface of the first portion is engaged with the tibia; a fixation mechanism adapted to attach the orthopedic implant to the tibia; and an adjustment mechanism adapted to change a distance between the tendon contact surface and the tibia contact surface. The invention also includes a method for repositioning a patellar tendon of a patient.

Adjustable patellar tendon realignment implant

An orthopedic implant with an inferior portion having a tibia contact surface configured to extend over a tibia; a superior portion opposite to the inferior portion having a tendon contact surface configured to change a position of a patellar tendon by lifting or tilting the patellar tendon when the curved surface of the first portion is engaged with the tibia; and a fixation mechanism adapted to attach the orthopedic implant to the tibia, the orthopedic implant being further configured to change shape from a first configuration to a second configuration in response to a load applied between the tendon contact surface and the tibia contact surface. The invention also addresses corresponding methods.

Patella tendon realignment implant with changeable shape

A method and system provide and use a patellar implant. The patellar implant includes a superior portion, an inferior portion opposite to the superior portion, and an anterior portion. The superior portion being configured to reside below a patellar tendon and to elevate and/or tilt the patellar tendon. The inferior portion is configured to be seated in proximity to a tibia. The anterior portion is between the superior portion and the inferior portion. The anterior portion is placed in proximity to a patella. In one aspect, the method includes inserting the implant beneath the patellar tendon and between the patella and a position at which the patellar tendon is affixed to the tibia. In this aspect, the method also includes affixing the implant.

Method and system for patella tendon realignment

Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for attaching tissue, for example to bone. For example, devices are provided for anchoring filament to tissue or bone. Suture anchors are provided, and multi-component suture anchors are provided with sutures and components that fit together through an interference fit.

A system and method is disclosed for attaching tissue to bone. The system comprises an expander pin configured to receive suture; an expandable body configured to receive the expander pin; the expander pin expanding the expandable body when the expander pin is received in the expandable body; the expander pin and the expandable body being configured to (1) allow sliding movement of the suture relative to the expander pin when the expander pin is disposed in a first position relative to the expandable body, and (2) bind the suture relative to the expander pin when the expander pin is disposed in a second position relative to the expandable body; an installation tool adapted to releaseably attach to the expandable body; and the installation tool including a pusher for driving the expander pin into the expandable body.
