An ultra-low sensitivity ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) device and a method for manufacturing the device is disclosed. The GFCI device detects an unbalanced current between line and return conductors that results from an unintended path to ground. The GFCI device disconnects the current source when a leakage current is detected. The GFCI device includes a current transformer that has its core wrapped with the line and return conductors. The line and return conductors are secured around the core in a fixed position. During manufacture of the GFCI device an amplifier of the GFCI can be adjusted so that the GFCI device disconnects the current source when a leakage current exceeds a desired level.

Ultra-low sensitivity ground fault circuit interrupter

The invention provides apparatus for conditioning organic fluid for subsequent use in a medical procedure. The apparatus includes a cabinet having a secure environment and a door providing the only access to the environment. An input system is provided for transporting a organic fluid charge from a source to the cabinet and a container is removably contained in the secure environment and coupled to the charge input system to receive the charge. Stressors are coupled to the cabinet and positioned for operation to create a conditioned charge in the container An output system is coupled to the container and includes a receiver for the conditioned charge. The apparatus also includes a needle hub wherein a first end of the needle may be inserted intramuscularly while a second end of the needle projects beyond the patient's tissue and the second end being shielded. The apparatus also includes a heat sealing device for a thermoplastic medical tubing, thereby providing a sealed and closed batch system for treatment of the charge and thus reducing the risk of contamination of the charge, reducing the risk of cross contamination between charges, and reducing the risk of the charge contacting the operator.

A tonometer, for determining intraocular pressure, has a body, which can be a transparent, substantially tubular body. A plunger is located within the body and a coil spring acts between the body and the plunger. A marker member is frictionally retained within the body and is displaced relative to an external scale on the body. In use, the tonometer is brought up against the eyelid of a closed eye and the body displaced relative to the head of the plunger, until the pressure is sufficient to create a pressure phosphene. The device is then removed and the displacement of the marker member, indicative of the applied pressure is read. This reading corresponds to the intraocular pressure. The device may include a return member for returning the marker member to a zero or rest position
