A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium operating in a mobile device server. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium can include computer instructions to execute a web server application in the mobile device server. The web server application can be operable cause the mobile device server to detect a media resource center while roaming in a communication zone of the media resource center, transmit a pairing key to the media resource center, and receive from the media resource center authorization to pair with one or more resources selected by the media resource center according to the pairing key. In one embodiment a billing system can be operable to determine whether to apply a monetary charge to a subscriber account based on the pairing key. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A system is disclosed for delivering targeted advertising data over a network including but not limited to a first video server processor interface for sending data for rotating one of the set of follow-on advertisements off of the on-screen picture in picture queue display to an off-screen storage; and a second video server processor interface for sending data rotating another one of the follow-on advertisements from the off-screen storage to the on screen picture in picture queue display.

A method is disclosed for delivering targeted advertising data over an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) network including but not limited to displaying in a picture in picture queue display, a set of follow-on advertisements comprising less than all of the plurality of follow-on advertisements; rotating one of the set of follow-on advertisements off of the on-screen picture in picture queue display to an off-screen storage; and rotating another one of the follow-on advertisements from the off-screen storage to the on screen picture in picture queue display. A system and computer program are disclosed for practicing the method.

System and method for delivering targeted advertising data in an internet protocol television system

A system and method for delivering targeted advertising data over an internet protocol television (IPTV) network are disclosed for multicasting from an IPTV server a group of targeted advertising data to a group of end user client devices; receiving at the IPTV server from an end user client device in the group of end user client devices selection data indicating selected targeted advertising data from the group data; and unicasting from the IPTV server to the end user client device follow-on advertising data related to the selected targeted advertising data. A client device is disclosed for receiving a multicast group of targeted advertising data, selecting one of the group of targeted advertising data and receiving follow-on advertising data related to the selected advertising data.
