A dome-covered rodent trap for capturing rodents. The trap has a base formed of walls and two openings through which rodents may enter. A snap mechanism for trapping rodents is secured to the base. A movable dome also is attached to the base. When the trap is set, the movable dome is maintained in a raised position. However, when the snap mechanism is triggered by a rodent, the movable dome moves downward to cover the base&#x2014;thereby forming a sealed container around a captured rodent.

A system for detecting rodent activity in an area. A series of detectors that calibrated to detect rodent vocalizations are placed in a geographic area. One or more of the detectors detect rodent vocalizations and transmits data notifying a central computer of detected vocalizations. The computer is provided with a program that generates a report of incidences and locations of detected vocalizations.

A rodent trap includes a base, a trigger mechanism and a spring activated snap cover. During operation, a rodent touching the trigger mechanism releases the spring activated snap cover which quickly snaps over the trigger mechanism either enclosing and trapping the rodent or snapping onto the rodent and retaining the rodent by snapping onto the rodent and retaining the rodent between the base and the edges of the snap cover. The snap cover includes rounded edges which fit into flange portions on the base and which aid in retaining the rodent in the rodent trap.

An insect trap includes an internal source of multi-directional illumination mounted within the housing. The outer surface of the housing has an adhesive layer. The internal source of illumination attracts insects which fly onto the adhesive layer and become ensnared on the surface of the housing.

A bed bug monitor includes a base and a central housing. The central housing is insulated and encloses a supply of solid carbon dioxide. During use an aperture in the housing releases a plume of carbon dioxide vapor which attracts bed bugs onto the base.
