Remote notifications are provided by a security system. When the security system detects a visitor, a first notification is sent to an authorized user. The first notification may include an image or video, thus allowing the user to recognize the visitor. If the user approves the visitor, the security system deactivates for a period of time. The visitor may thus enter a home or business for some purpose. However, if the visitor lingers beyond the period of time, the security system reactivates and sends a second notification.

A system and method for remotely monitoring and controlling building security are provided. A controller is communicatively coupled to security devices of a building and can communicate an activity event detected by one of the security devices to a remote user device. The controller can then establish a communication session between the remote device and a security device via the controller, thereby allowing the user to communicate with any visitors. Video from a security device can be transmitted by the controller to the user device or an alternative user-device. Access instructions can be provided by the user, in response to which the controller can deactivate various building security measures. Security measures can be reactivated by the controller automatically or in response to a user command. Additionally, the controller can monitor visitor compliance with the deactivated security measures and activate alarms or notify security agencies if necessary.

A system and method for remotely monitoring and controlling building security are provided. The tap shoe with an adjustable tap assembly facilitates changing taps and can be used to alter the sound of the tap. The tap shoe with an adjustable tap assembly is a tap shoe having a toe portion and a heel, two taps, two metal spacer plates, machine screws, and nuts. The nuts are embedded in the heel and toe portion of a tap dancing shoe. The spacer plates are attached to the heel and toe portions, respectively, with adhesive and nails. Machine screws then secure the taps to the nuts in the toe portion and heel of a tap dancing shoe, being inserted through holes in the spacer plates. Self-locking nuts are used to eliminate the possibility of the machine screws vibrating loose.

A squeegee is disclosed having a housing which is capable of being unfolded for use. The housing, which may, preferably, be made of any durable material is preferably rectangular in shape with a top surface and a bottom surface. Each surface preferably has a planar shape. If rectangularly-shaped, the housing is to have a plurality of side panels, three of which are affixed to the bottom surface. The fourth side panel is flexibly connected to both the bottom surface and the top surface, preferably by two hingeable connections. When in the closed, or folded position, the top surface is to rest on the plurality of panels, parallel to the bottom surface. A sponge is, preferably, removably affixed to the inner side of the top surface; a wiper blade is, preferably, removably affixed to the inner side of the flexibly connected panel. When the squeegee is unfolded, the sponge and the wiper blade may be used to clean a surface, such as an automobile windshield. The housing of the squeegee may be provided with locking means to secure it in the closed position when not in use.
