A contactless odometer system can include a sensor array. The sensor array can include a plurality of sensing elements adjacent to a target surface and configured to receive signals based on a distance separating the sensing element from the adjacent surface and a defect present below the adjacent surface of the target. The system can also include a controller configured to receive the signals from first and second locations within the target and to generate first and second defect maps corresponding to the first and second locations. The controller can identify overlapping portions of first and second defect maps and can determine a translation distance in at least one direction. Related methods of determining a distance traveled by a contactless odometer system are also provided.

Contactless odometer

A system includes one or more tools, sensors, or both configured to obtain data related to the one or more pipelines, wherein the data is ultrasonic data, electromagnetic data, or both, and a cloud-based computing system including at least one processor that receives the data from the one or more tools, sensors, or both, performs analysis to generate a virtual structural model of the one or more pipelines based on the data, determines one or more states of the one or more pipelines using the virtual structural model and determines whether to take one or more actions when the one or more states indicate that the one or more pipelines violate a threshold operation boundary.

Predictive integrity analysis

In accordance with an embodiment, a method for inspecting pipe is provided. The method includes transmitting an ultrasound pulse through a pipe or a fluid container from inside the pipe or the fluid container. The method further includes receiving echoes via a plurality of sensors, based on the ultrasound pulse, and combining echo data from the plurality of sensors. The method additionally includes deriving an environmental assessment based on the combining the echo data.

Combined pulse echo inspection of pipeline systems

Systems, methods, and a computer readable medium are provided for demagnetizing a pipe within an operational pipeline. An inline demagnetization device can be positioned in a first location within a pipe of an operational pipeline. The inline demagnetization device can be positioned via a plurality of positioning mechanisms operable to position the inline demagnetization device at one or more locations within the pipe. The inline demagnetization device can transmit magnetic fields into the pipe at the first location via a plurality of magnetic field conductors configured within the inline demagnetization device. The transmitted magnetic field can cause a reduction of magnetization present in the pipe. The inline demagnetization device can be positioned in a second location to further reduce the magnetization present at the second location.

Inline demagnetization for operational pipelines

A method for pipeline inspection is provided. The method includes carrying out an inspection run in which a pipeline inspection apparatus travels inside a pipeline, wherein sensors on the apparatus are configured to conduct an in-line inspection of wall material along a length of the pipeline. The method includes initiating a first inspection mode to produce a primary inspection data set, wherein the first inspection mode comprises an inspection of the pipeline wall material upstream and downstream of a location of a dented region in the pipeline, selectively initiating a second inspection mode to produce a secondary inspection data set, wherein the second inspection mode includes an inspection of the pipeline wall material in the dented region in the length of the pipeline, and combining the primary and the secondary inspection data sets to provide a direct assessment for the presence of cracks and/or corrosion in wall material along the pipeline.
