A silk blend ballistic fabric for creating comfortable and flexible bulletproof apparel includes a plurality of silk threads and a plurality of para-aramid fiber threads interwoven with the plurality of silk threads to create a fabric. An alternative embodiment of the disclosure generally comprises a hybrid thread comprising a silk thread and a para-aramid fiber thread twisted with the silk thread. The resulting hybrid thread can be woven to create the fabric. The resulting fabric is bulletproof and substantially flexible to create articles of clothing such as, but not limited to, trousers, shirts, and the like.

A climbing wall may be constructed using a variety of techniques and components. The climbing wall may be comprised of a number of dihedral angles. The individual panels of the wall may include a curve along the edge of the panel, with a corresponding slope cut along the edge, which enables a wider variety of dihedral angles to be formed utilizing the panels.

Climbing wall construction components, system and method

A rail coaster operates as a cross between a roller coaster and a zip line. A rail may be suspended under a frame by flexible cables or solid brackets. The rail may turn, incline, decline, or twist, but need not twist to still provide a 'rolling' degree of freedom for a rider. An eddy current brake provides proportional braking as a function of speed. A cam-adjustment-axle (eccentric) carries certain wheels to provide finely divided, discrete, but incrementally small adjustments of idler wheel clearances to accommodate variations in the rail, wheel wear, and onsite adjustment of tolerances for curvature, unevenness, and friction. A 'static universal' bracket provides adjustment in four degrees of freedom, three of translation and one of rotation in securing a rail to a supporting frame.

Coaster and trolley system and method

A shrinkable camera skin assembly for altering the appearance of a camera body includes a camera wrap is positionable around a camera body to alter the appearance of the camera body. The camera wrap has a plurality of openings therein each being aligned with respective structural features of the camera body. A lens wrap is wrapped around a body of a camera lens to alter the appearance of the body of the camera lens. A hood wrap is wrapped around a lens hood to alter the appearance of the lens hood. Each of the camera wrap, the lens wrap and the hood wrap is comprised of a heat shrink material. Thus, the camera, lens and hood wraps can shrink around the respective camera body, camera lens and lens hood.

The present invention relates to a zip-line ride system. The zip-line ride system may consist of a tower and an anchor connected by a cable. The anchor may be fixed or temporary, allowing for a zip-line ride that may be portable. The zip-line ride system may also allow for an adjustment to the height, length, tension, or any combination of all three, of the cable.

The present disclosure relates to a ride for providing an upward boost to a participant jumping up and down. The flexible rods of this disclosure may be articulated by a base thereby imparting tension in the flexible rods, and providing an upward force to a participant jumping up and down. Additionally, elastic pods may be provided, allowing participants to bounce upward in a addition to the lift provided by the flexible members, thereby enhancing the participant's experience.

Trailer for hauling recreational and advertising equipment

The invention provides improved climbing devices and structures for use in mobile and fixed climbing installations. Modular climbing towers are generally assembled from panels having lateral curves by fastening upper and lower flanges of the panels together. The panels and flanges are integrally molded from fiberglass, and act as a monocoque structure. The climbing surface is on the radially outward portion of the partially or fully enclosed tower, thereby increasing the number of climbers that can safely be accommodated on a climbing surface of a given width. The invention also provides belaying devices for safely supporting a climber at the end of a flexible member such as a cable, rope, or the like. These belaying devices generally draw in the flexible member as the climber climbs. When the climber falls or completes the climbing route, the belay device supports the climber's weight, slowly and safely lowering the climber down to the ground. The exemplary auto-belay device makes use of a hydraulic piston mechanism to separate a pair of pulley assemblies. The flexible members runs back and forth between the pulley assemblies with a plurality of windings, so that the stroke of the hydraulic piston is significantly less than the height of the climbing structure.

Auto-belay rock climbing devices and modular climbing towers

The invention provides improved climbing devices and structures for use in mobile and fixed climbing installations. The mobile climbing installation has a modular climbing tower pivotally mounted to a trailer to pivot between a road orientation and a climbing orientation. Modular climbing towers are generally assembled from panels having lateral curves by fastening upper and lower flanges of the panels together. The panels and flanges are integrally molded from fiberglass, and act as a monocoque structure. The climbing surface is on the radially outward portion of the partially or fully enclosed tower, thereby increasing the number of climbers that can safely be accommodated on a climbing surface of a given width. The flexible members runs back and forth between the pulley assemblies with a plurality of windings, so that the stroke of the hydraulic piston is significantly less than the height of the climbing structure.

Mobile, modular climbing tower

A liquid level sensing apparatus, and related method, that utilizes a tuning fork assembly to detect the presence of not only a liquid or air at a particular location within a container, but also a solid material at that location. The tuning fork assembly includes an excitation transducer and a receiving transducer mechanically coupled to a pair of paddles that are exposed within the container, and a phase-locked loop control system applies an excitation signal to the excitation transducer having a frequency that is regulated to track the tuning fork's resonant frequency. A comparator compares that resonant frequency with a prescribed threshold, to determine whether the tuning fork assembly is disposed in air or a liquid. A failure of the phase-locked loop control system to lock the frequency of the excitation signal at any particular frequency indicates that the tuning fork assembly is over-damped and likely contacted by a solid material. Since the apparatus normally excites the tuning fork assembly at its resonant frequency, this allows the apparatus to be operated at reduced power levels, leading to improved efficiency.

Apparatus and method for level sensing in a container

A time-domain reflectometer is disclosed for reliably measuring the level of a liquid in a tank. The reflectometer emits an acoustic signal into a waveguide that projects downwardly into the tank and receives a return acoustic signal reflected from the surface of the liquid. The time delay between the transmitted acoustic signal and the reflected acoustic signal is a measure of the level of the liquid, and the reflectometer converts this level measurement into a electrical current that is linearly proportioned between predetermined minimum and maximum values. In addition, the reflectometer incorporates a liquid- and vapor-impervious membrane disposed in the path of the transmitted and reflected acoustic signals, adjacent to the transmitter and receiver, to prevent the escape of liquid and vapor from the tank and to isolate the electronics, including the transmitter and receiver, from such liquid and vapor.
