One or more computer processors create a user-event localization model for an identified remote audience member in a plurality of identified remote audience members for an event. The one or more computer processors generate a virtual audience member based the identified remote audience member utilizing a trained generated adversarial network and one or more user preferences. The one or more computer processors present the generated virtual audience member in a location associated with the event. The one or more computer processors dynamically adjust a presented virtual audience member responsive to one or more event occurrences utilizing the created user-event localization model.

Dynamic virtual audience generation

Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The methods include, for instance: obtaining a media file including a speech by one or more speaker. The language of the speech is identified and biographic data of a speaker of the speech is generated by analyzing semantics and vocal characteristics of the speech. The speaker is diarized and confidence in a resulting speaker label is evaluated against a threshold. The speaker label is adjusted with the language of the speech and biographic data of the speaker and produced as speaker metadata of the media file.

Speaker identification assisted by categorical cues

A method and associated system for managing web page images. After detection of a modification to a web page, the method attempts but fails to retrieve an image from a first location pointed to by a path included in a first link in a list of links included in the web page and in response, an image placeholder is stored at the first location. A request, for a replacement image to replace the image placeholder at the first location, is published. The request specifies that the replacement image must have specified resolution dimensions and a larger size than a size of the image placeholder. The replacement image, which is received in response to the request, is determined to have the specified resolution dimensions and a larger size than the size of the image placeholder and in response, the image placeholder is replaced with the replacement image at the first location.

Managing web page images on a web page server system

In general, embodiments of the invention provide an approach to proactively adjust timeout settings on a display device based on user activity. Specifically, a system and method are presented to adaptively adjust the inactivity timeout settings on a display device based on the application being used, the content being displayed on the device, and an analysis of the user's history with the application. The present invention calculates an inactivity timeout modifier which is utilized to modify the default operating system timeout value.

A method and system for switching media streams of a video. A first media stream of the video is played in a SHOW mode in a client system as the first media stream is received. Aa switch is made from playing the first media stream to playing a second media stream of the video in the SHOW mode as the second media stream is being received. The switch preserves video content continuity of the video and includes pausing play of the first media stream. A pausing rank is associated with each timecode in the first and second media streams. The pausing occurs at a timecode in the first media stream at which the associated pausing rank is not less than a predesignated threshold.

An alert generation method and system. The method includes receiving by a computer processor, alert data indicating filters for specified alert types associated with possible future events. The computer processor receives monitor definition data and media generated audio/video data; compares the alert data to the media generated audio/video data; determines a first alert type matches first audio/video data of the media generated audio/video data; and determines that the first audio/video data comprises a primary event. The computer processor broadcasts the primary event.

Filtering

A method and system for switching media streams of a video in a client system. A first media stream of the video is played in a SHOW mode in the client system as the first media stream is received from a content providing system. During playing the first media stream, an environmental change is detected within or adjacent to the client system and in response, a switch is made from playing the first media stream to playing a second media stream of the video in the SHOW mode as the second media stream is being received from the content providing system. After playing first media stream is paused, the switching may occur upon matching timecodes distributed in the first and second media streams, by transitioning playing the second media stream in a HIDE mode to playing the second media stream in the SHOW mode.

A mechanism for determining if images exist before publishing to a web server, and replacing missing images with temporary images for the purpose of providing alternate content while eliminating web server error responses, which prevents needless alerts to site administrators. Upon detecting a modification to a web page, a determination is made as to whether the modification includes a link to an image that does not exist at a location specified by a path in the link to the image. Responsive to a determination that the modification includes a link to an image that does not exist at the location, an image placeholder is created for the image at the location.

Preventing not found error (404) responses on dynamically loaded missing images

A system and method to modify audio components in an online environment based on avatar characteristics and/or inventory items. The system includes a component to allow one or more audio modification algorithms to be selected. The system also includes a component to identify one or more avatar characteristics and a component to identify one or more avatar inventory items. The system further comprises a component to modify an audio communication in a virtual universe based on at least one of the one or more audio modification algorithms, the one or more avatar characteristics, and the one or more avatar inventory items.

System and method to modify audio components in an online environment

A method, apparatus and computer-usable medium for implementing a virtual keyboard for use with small input devices. A circular keyboard can be graphically displayed, in response to a user input by a user via a small input device. A circular and centrally located key can be graphically located and displayed within the center of the circular keyboard, wherein character keys radiate outward from the centrally located key (i.e., the 'central key'). Character keys that are most commonly utilized by the user are preferably located closed to the circular and centrally located key within the circular keyboard. Character keys least commonly utilized by the user are preferably located at the edges of the keyboard, thereby permitting the circular keyboard to function as a self-adapting virtual keyboard for use with small input devices based on the usage of the keyboard by the user.

Self-adapting keypad

A method and systems for creating a three-dimensional wireframe mesh that represents characteristics of a model of an object moving along a curve in a three-dimensional coordinate system. A processor determines a direction of the object's motion from a starting location to an ending location. The processor performs vector operations to draw pairs of vectors from a common, initial base point. The tips of each pair of vectors identify two corresponding points of the mesh, and the vector operations are functions of the starting location, of the second location, and of the object's direction of motion. The processor adjusts characteristics of the mesh and determines, as a function of the adjusted mesh, a characteristic of the animated object at the ending location, such as its orientation, color, texture, reflectance, size, font, or animation speed.
