An auditron system is provided for a multifunctional printing system including a printing machine with a plurality of document processing services, the auditron system includes a user interface and a programmable auditron subsystem communicating with the user interface and printing machine. The auditron subsystem is responsive to input at the user interface and the input causes the auditron subsystem to be disposed in one of a plurality of modes relative to one of the plurality of document processing services. When the programmable auditron subsystem is disposed in a first one of a plurality of modes, an accounting of each document processing operation performed relative to the one of the plurality of document processing services is maintained on a mandatory basis, and when the programmable auditron subsystem is disposed in a second one of the plurality of modes, accounting of each document processing operation performed relative to the one of the plurality of document processing services is maintained selectively in accordance with user demand.

Programmable auditron for multifunctional printing system

A method is provided for a multifunctional printing system in which a plurality of jobs are placed in a queue in anticipation of processing the same. The queue, over time, receives jobs of at least a first user type and a second user type. In operation, first and second jobs of the first user type are placed in the queue. When a third job is ready for placement into the queue, a determination as to whether the third job is of the first user type or the second user type is made. If the third job is of the first user type, then it is processed subsequent to the processing of both the first and second jobs; however, if the third job is of the second user type, then the third job is processed ahead of at least the second job.

Multifunctional printing system with queue management

A method of interrupting a job currently in the process of being printed from a print queue of a multifunctional printing system with an interrupt job having its origin in one of a first service or a second service is provided. The job currently in the process of being printed includes a page boundary, a set boundary and a job boundary. Additionally, the first service includes a first input device disposed locally with respect to the multifunctional printing system and communicates with a first memory section having one or more jobs developed with the first input device, while the second service includes a second input device disposed remotely of the multifunctional printing system and communicates with a second memory section having one or more jobs developed with the second input device. The method includes selecting a job from one of a first memory section and the second memory section. The job is designated as an interrupt job and transmitted to the print queue. When the interrupt job is from the first memory section and a preselected condition is met, it is inserted at one of the page boundary and the set boundary. When the interrupt job is from the second memory, it is inserted into the print queue at the job boundary.

Job interrupt system for multifunctional printing system

A method is provided for a multifunctional printing system in which a first job, developed at a first service, and a second job, developed at a second service are placed in a queue for processing. A first value is assigned to the first job and a second value is assigned to the second job, with the first and second values varying in magnitude as a function of the first and second services. In practice, the first job is placed in the queue and a portion thereof is processed. Subsequently, the second job is placed in the queue and processing of the first job is interrupted by the second job if the second value is greater in magnitude than the first value.

An user interface edit pad for accepting two or three dimensional information for input into a computer, printer, copier or other electronic device. The user interface apparatus includes an edit pad which may be aligned and calibrated with an electronically stored image. The edit pad includes a pressure sensitive surface for defining an input pattern according to pressure applied to the surface; the input pattern is made up of a plurality of input points, each input point having an x, y and or z input coordinates. The user interface also includes a processor for storing an image having a plurality of image points each associated with corresponding input points of the input pattern. Each coordinate of the image points in the electronic image is individually addressable by the processor, such that the processor is operable to calibrate each input point relative to each corresponding image point and to adjustably align the input pattern with the image.
