A connecting-conductor is disclosed. The connecting-conductor may have a first conductor-element and a second conductor-element. Each conductor-element has a first end that is mechanically-connected and electrically-conductively connected to a resistor-element. The resistor-element has an electrical-insulating substrate, and a resistive material annularly disposed on at least part of the electrical-insulating substrate. The first end of each conductor-element is electrically-conductively connected to the resistive material. The first conductor does not touch the second conductor, and an electrical pathway is created via the resistive material from one of the conductor-elements to the other of the conductor-elements.

An electromagnetic filter, which may include a feed-through conductor. The feed-through conductor may have an integral extension for contacting an electrically conductive clip. The clip may have an extension-engaging portion to contact the extension and a dielectric component-contacting end to contact a dielectric component. The dielectric component may be, for example, a varistor, a chip capacitor, or the like, capable of affecting a signal carried by the feed-through conductor. The dielectric component may be proximate to the feed-through conductor and may be oriented such that a primary dimension of the dielectric component is substantially parallel to the feed-through conductor. Another embodiment may include a bus. The invention may also be embodied as methods for assembling electromagnetic filters.

The invention may be embodied as a radome having an exterior-facing surface. The exterior-facing surface has a step. The step facilitates the movement of water toward an outer edge of the radome. The radome may be incorporated into an antenna.

A method of forming a dielectric component, such as a capacitor is disclosed. In such a method, a conductive surface is applied to a dielectric to form a coated dielectric. Then a portion of the conductive surface is removed from the coated dielectric to form at least two electrically isolated conductive areas.

The invention includes an electromagnetic filter for a feedthrough conductor, and a method of making such a filter. At least two dielectric components are supported from a first side of a substrate, such as a housing or a printed circuit board. At least one of the dielectric components is associated with a failsafe link.

The invention may be embodied in an electromagnetic filter for use with a feedthrough conductor. An inductor having a metallized surface is disposed about the conductor, and a capacitor is joined to the inductor. One set of capacitor plates are electrically connected to a first conductive contact to provide a connection to the metallized surface. Another set of capacitor plates are electrically connected to a second conductive contact to provide a connection to the feedthrough conductor. A method of providing such a filter is also disclosed.
