Embodiments of the invention include a media tray for a media advance mechanism. The media tray includes an access door attached to the media tray via a hinge oriented in a vertical direction and a cleanout disposed on an interior surface of the access door. The access door pivots open around the hinge. The cleanout is mounted such that the cleanout can move translationally along the access door.

A printer accessory including a housing and a connector, the connector having a frame defining an opening in the housing, and including a contact housing and a door slideably disposed within the opening. Biasing elements bias the contact housing and door to extend from the opening, wherein the door is configured to be depressed into the housing through the opening to expose electrical contacts on the contact housing.

A system having a disc carrier determines a location of the disc carrier based upon first and second specular signals from an optical sensing element, the first specular signal occurring when the incident light is not received within the opening and impinges a first portion of the optical sensing element and the second specular signal occurring when the incident light is received within the opening and impinges a second portion of the optical sensing element.
