A vent shut-off assembly configured to manage venting on a fuel tank configured to deliver fuel to an internal combustion engine includes a first liquid vapor discriminator (LVD), a main housing, a first poppet valve assembly, a pump and an actuator assembly. The first LVD is disposed in the fuel tank. The main housing selectively vents to a carbon canister. The first poppet valve assembly has a first poppet valve arranged in the main housing. The pump selectively pumps liquid fuel from the main housing. The actuator assembly is at least partially housed in the main housing and includes a cam assembly having a cam shaft that includes a first cam and a second cam. The first cam has a profile that one of opens and closes the first poppet valve fluidly coupled to the first LVD.

Evaporative emissions fuel tank venting system with pressure relief

A method for operating an evaporative emissions control system for use with a fuel tank that stores and delivers fuel to an internal combustion engine is provided. A vent shut-off assembly is provided that selectively opens and closes at least one valve to provide overpressure and vacuum relief for the fuel tank. The vent shut-off assembly selectively vents to a purge canister. The at least one valve is closed whereby vapor is precluded from passing from the fuel tank to the purge canister. A purge event is performed wherein dedicated fresh air is drawn into the purge canister and delivered from the purge canister to the engine.

Evaporative emissions control system and method for isolating fuel tank from a purge canister

A valve assembly for a fuel tank system including a fuel tank having a fuel tank outlet and a purge canister includes a main valve and a safety check valve. The main valve can be configured to move from a closed position to an open position. The main valve can have a main valve first port fluidly coupled to the outlet of the fuel tank and a main valve second port fluidly connected to the purge canister. The safety check valve can be configured to move from an open position to a closed position upon a pressure drop at the fuel tank outlet exceeding a predetermined threshold. The safety check valve can have a safety check valve first port fluidly coupled to the outlet of the fuel tank and a safety check valve second port fluidly coupled to the purge canister.

Fuel tank safety valve

A fuel tank system constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure includes a fuel tank, a purge canister and a valve assembly. The valve assembly can be fluidly coupled between the fuel tank and the purge canister. The valve assembly can include a main valve and a safety check valve. The main valve can have a main valve first port fluidly coupled to an outlet of the fuel tank and a main valve second port fluidly connected to the purge canister. The safety check valve can be configured to move from an open position to a closed position upon a pressure drop at the fuel tank outlet exceeding a predetermined threshold. The safety check valve can have a safety check valve first port fluidly coupled to the outlet of the fuel tank and a safety check valve second port fluidly coupled to the purge canister.

A valve configured for use with a fuel tank can have a floating main valve housed within a valve body. The valve body can define a first port fluidly connected to the fuel tank, a second port fluidly connected to a tank venting system of the fuel tank and a third port fluidly connected to the filler neck. The solenoid can be configured on the check valve. The solenoid can have a pin configured to extend into the valve body and engage the floating main valve in a locked position.

Fuel tank check valve

A fluid level detection system includes a fluid reservoir defining a cavity for holding fluid therein. A fluid level sensor is mounted to the fluid reservoir. The solenoid body defines a first opening establishing fluid communication between an armature chamber and a cavity defined by the reservoir. Travel time of an armature within the armature chamber is thereby affected by fluid level in the reservoir. A controller is operatively connected to the sensor and is operable to receive a sensor signal indicative of travel time from the sensor and formulate a control signal corresponding thereto. A power source is operatively connected to the controller for energizing the coil and the controller. In some embodiments, multiple fluid containing components are connected with one or more controllers. An engine, a transmission, and rear axle differentials on a vehicle may be equipped with sensors to provide fluid level, temperature and viscosity information.

Disclosed are anti-viral compositions containing at least one zinc compound and at least one phenolic antioxidant (and optionally other ingredients), and a pharmaceutical carrier. Also disclosed are methods of treating lesionous symptoms of a viral infection involving applying an effective amount of the anti-viral composition to the lesions.

Anti-viral compositions and methods of making and using the anti-viral compositions

One aspect of the invention relates to anti-viral composition containing at least one zinc compound and at least one phenolic antioxidant (and optionally other ingredients such as at least one analgesic) at least one hydrocarbyl containing compound, and water. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method of treating lesionous symptoms of a viral infection involving applying an effective amount of the zinc containing anti-viral composition to the lesions.

Disclosed are amorphous precipitated silicas, silica gels, and amorphous carbons derived from biomass and methods of producing them with and without adhered or deposited amorphous carbons produced by acidifying a caustic silicate solution produced by caustic digestion of biomass ash containing silica with and without activated carbon, the ash being obtained from thermal pyrolysis of the biomass, the acidifying effective to produce a slurry of the precipitated silica and silica gels with and without adhered or deposited amorphous carbon, and separated from the slurry the precipitated silicas and silica gels with and without the adhered or deposited amorphous carbons. The properties of the precipitated silica with adhered or deposited carbon being within the range as utilized in rubber compositions thereby avoiding the blending of silica and carbon components for such use. The precipitated silicas and silica gels without adhered or deposited carbon having metal contaminants present in low concentrations which when used in formulation of chemical-mechanical-planerization slurries used in polishing silicon wafers in the manufacture of computer chips and other electronic devices do not contaminate the wafer and final chip product and the other electronic devices.
