A shoe sole structure includes a midsole body that extends from the heel region to the forefoot region of a shoe and an outsole that is attached to the midsole body. The outsole includes a plurality of protrusions arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis of the shoe, while extending at least partially between the lateral edge and the medial edge of the shoe. One or more of the half tube structures can include grooves and/or projections to enhance traction on a contact surface.

A footwear member includes a set of stretchable fastening members that allow a user to select and attach those fastening members that provide the best fit. Each selected fastening member is attached at its opposite ends to connection structures that are paired. For example, the paired connection structures may be two posts that have grooves in order to properly seat and retain the ends of the fastening members. Two acceptable materials for forming the fastening members are rubber and urethane. The fastening members may be referred to as 'bungee cords.' There are at least two different lengths of fastening members in order to provide selection on the basis of the shape or size of a user's foot. Selection of the proper 'bungee cord' also applies to an attachment at the Achilles area of the wearer's foot.

A flexible hinged cleat for a shoe includes a base, a hinge section and a traction section formed as a one-piece mechanism. The flexible hinged cleat is capable of flexing upwardly or downwardly, depending on the direction of the applied force. The hinge section is configured such that the traction section is hinged for rotation relative to a generally fixed axis. Multiple flexible hinged cleats may be molded as parts of a strip and subsequently sandwiched between the outsole and midsole of a shoe.

A spikeless golf shoe includes an upper portion and an outsole portion which further includes a front portion and a heel portion. The outsole portion includes several rows of approximately trapezoidal shaped interconnected cleats designed so that the golfer is provided with stability and traction during a golf swing, traction while walking up an incline, stability while walking on a firm surface other than grass and increased flexibility and comfort. The cleats are also reduce or eliminate the spike mark problems to grass surfaces and reduce the accumulation of debris within the cleats. Several rows of cleats are positioned along the inner and outer periphery of the outsole portion and are oriented so that substantial traction is provided during a golf swing as well as allowing the golf shoe to roll during the follow through of a golf swing.

Shoe sole

The invention is a single hand operation shoe lacing system which has an elongate lace strap which is affixed at its front end to a lacing area of the shoe in the vicinity of the vamp. The lace strap is looped through a series of lace strap loops positioned in the lacing area of the shoe, alternately on the medial and lateral quarter panels of the shoe. The rear end of the lace strap adjustably carries a first engagement member with a second engagement member being positioned on the counter of the shoe. The first engagement member is adjustably positionable on the lace strap to adjust its working length. When the first engagement member is engaged with the second engagement member, the lace strap will draw the medial and lateral sides of the quarter together, and thereby fit the shoe to the wearer's foot, and when the first and second engagement members are disengaged, the medial and lateral quarter panels of the shoe can be separated, and thereby loosen the shoe on the wearer's foot. The shoe lacing system of the invention can easily be engaged and disengaged by a single hand operation.

A golf shoe including an upper portion and a sole portion having one or more flexible grooves or channels formed laterally to bend or flex about the ball of a user's foot when walking to provide for flexibility. The sole also includes one or more slots laterally formed therethrough to receive corresponding slides, each of which have one or more golf spikes formed therein. The slides can be easily removed from the shoe to facilitate changing of spikes when the slide is inserted into the slot and a clamping engagement is formed so as to provide for lateral support when a golfer is swinging a golf club while providing great flexibility when walking.
