A method of manufacturing a media assembly comprises winding a filter media about a center axis into a media roll and cutting the media roll along at least two cut lines and into at least two media packs of at least two media assemblies. The media roll is cut along at least one plane that is parallel to the center axis.

Various embodiments relate to a filter element. The filter element includes a first filter end, second filter end, filter media, and filter frame. The second filter end is disposed axially away from the first filter end. The filter media extends axially between a first filter end and a second filter end. The filter media is formed in a closed loop, the closed loop defining a hollow interior extending along a longitudinal axis between a first end of the filter media and a second end of the filter media. The outer surface surrounds a perimeter of the filter element and is defined by a substantially circular first portion and at least one second portion. The first portion is substantially circular at a selected height of the filter media, and the at least one second portion is depressed relative to a circle defined by the substantially circular first portion at the selected height.
