A coil spring assembly for connection with a separator body to apply a spring force to a grinding roll of a journal assembly to pulverize solid fuel. The coil spring assembly includes: a preload stud having a first end in communication with the journal assembly and an exposed opposite second end extending from the coil spring assembly; a spring adjustment bolt and bearing assembly being fixed relative to the preload stud extending therethrough; and a seal being substantially cylindrical shaped and flexible at least along a central axis thereof. The seal has a first end operably secured to the spring adjustment bolt and bearing assembly and an opposite second end operably secured to the second end of the preload stud thereby sealing a bushing area corresponding to a portion of the preload stud surrounded by the spring adjustment bolt and bearing assembly from ground solid fuel dust and allowing movement of the preload stud at least along the central axis thereof to apply the spring force from the coil spring assembly to the grinding roll.

Seal for coiled spring assembly

A grinder roll assembly () is provided herein. The grinder roll assembly () includes a grinder roll (), a shaft () in a through bore of the grinder roll, a first tapered sleeve (A), and a second tapered sleeve (B). The first tapered sleeve (A) fits between the shaft () and the grinder roll () in one direction, and the second tapered sleeve (B) fits between the shaft () and the grinder roll () in an opposite direction to form at least one friction lock that mounts the grinder roll () to the shaft ().

Keyless frictional shaft/hub locking device

An exhauster is provided having an improved fan assembly for exhausting coal through an exhauster fan housing, the exhauster fan assembly being mountable within the housing on a shaft for rotation about a shaft rotational axis. The housing has an inlet generally aligned with the shaft rotational axis such that coal entering the housing through the inlet contacts the rotating exhauster fan and is redirected thereby along a radial outlet path. The exhauster fan assembly includes a plurality of blades and a hub having an outer surface, a free end, and a bore for receiving therein the free end of the shaft in an orientation in which the free end of the shaft and the free end of the hub are oriented in the same axial direction. The outer surface of the hub is radially outwardly spaced from the bore and the blades are mounted to the outer surface of the hub at uniform angular spacings therearound and project radially outwardly therefrom. The exhauster fan assembly also includes a hub protector assembly having a wear plate and wear plate connector means for connecting the plate to at least one of the free end of the shaft and the free end of the hub. The wear plate has an outer periphery each point of which is at a greater radial spacing from the shaft rotational axis than a corresponding angularly aligned point on the outer surface of the hub, whereby the wear plate fully radially overlies the hub and the shaft to which it is attached, as viewed along the shaft rotational axis.
