An electronic assembly includes an electronic package connected to a host circuit board. The electronic assembly includes interposer assemblies electrically connected to the electronic package. The electronic assembly includes cable modules coupled to upper separable interface of the interposer assemblies. The electronic assembly includes carrier assemblies configured to be coupled to an upper surface of the electronic package. Each carrier assembly includes a carrier base block and a carrier lid configured to hold at least one interposer assembly and at least one cable module. The carrier assemblies hold the cable modules with the module contacts in electrical connection with upper mating interfaces of the interposer contacts. The carrier assemblies hold lower mating interfaces of the interposer contacts in electrical connection with upper package contacts of the electronic package. The carrier assemblies are separately removable from the electronic package to separate the interposer assemblies from the electronic package.

Electronic assembly including cable modules

A power connector system includes a busbar having a conductive plate. The conductive plate has first side and a second side. The conductive plate has a thickness profile between the first side and the second side. The conductive plate has a busbar opening therethrough between the first side and the second side. The power connector system includes a busbar connector received in the busbar opening of the conductive plate. The busbar connector includes a busbar housing and a busbar contact received in a socket of the busbar housing. The busbar housing is electrically conductive and electrically connected to the conductive plate in the busbar opening. The busbar contact is electrically conductive and electrically connected to the busbar housing in the socket. The busbar contact has a mating interface configured to mechanically and electrically connect to an electrical component plugged into the socket. The busbar housing and the busbar contact are both contained within the thickness profile of the conductive plate.

Power connector system

An electronic assembly includes an electronic package including a package substrate and an integrated circuit component mounted to an upper surface. The electronic package includes upper package contacts electrically connected to the integrated circuit component. The electronic assembly includes an interposer assembly including an array of compressible interposer contacts each having upper and lower mating interfaces. The interposer assembly defining a separable interface. The electronic assembly includes optical modules coupled to the separable interface of the interposer assembly and having an optical module substrate having module contacts and an optical engine mounted to the optical module substrate electrically connected to the module contacts. The optical module is mounted to the interposer assembly such that the module contacts are electrically connected to the upper mating interfaces of the interposer contacts. Each optical module includes at least one optical fiber terminated to the optical engine.

Electronic assembly including optical modules

A receptacle connector assembly includes a receptacle cage mounted to a circuit board having walls defining a cavity including a module channel that receives a pluggable module. The receptacle connector assembly includes a communication connector received in the cavity and mounted to the circuit board. The communication connector has a housing holding a contact array including ground and signal contacts extending between mating and mounting ends of the housing. The ground contacts have ground mating ends and ground mounting ends including compliant pins press-fit into plated vias of the circuit board. The signal contacts have signal mating ends and signal mounting ends including deflectable spring beams deflected against the circuit board when the communication connector is mounted to the circuit board.

Contact array for electrical connector

A communication system includes a circuit board having circuit board signal and ground contacts on the upper surface. The communication system includes a cable assembly having a housing holding a cable module with cables. A ground shield and signal contacts are electrically connected to the cables. The ground shield includes ground beams with ground mating interfaces coupled to corresponding circuit board ground contacts. Each signal contact has a terminating pad terminated to the cable conductor and a signal beam with a signal mating interface coupled to the circuit board signal contact. The housing includes contact channels receiving the signal and ground beams with the mating interfaces exposed for interfacing with the circuit board.

Direct mate cable assembly

A cable socket connector assembly for an electronic system includes a socket assembly having a socket substrate including socket substrate conductors. The socket assembly has socket contacts extending between terminating ends and mating ends with the terminating ends terminated to corresponding socket substrate conductors and the mating ends configured to be terminated to corresponding package contacts of an electronic package of the electronic system. The cable socket connector assembly includes a cable assembly terminated to the socket assembly having an array of cables each having a cable conductor terminated to a corresponding socket substrate conductor. The socket contacts and the corresponding socket substrate conductors define electrical paths between the cable conductors of the cables and the package conductors of the electronic package.

Cable socket connector assembly for an electronic

A socket connector includes a socket assembly having a socket frame, a socket substrate coupled to the socket frame and socket contacts terminated to the socket substrate. The socket substrate has first and second upper mating areas including first and second socket substrate conductors for mating with an electronic package and an electrical component, respectively. The socket contacts define an interface with the electronic package. The socket assembly is configured to electrically connect the electronic package with both a host circuit board and the electrical component.

Socket connector for an electronic package

A cable connector assembly includes a housing having a first end mounted to an integrated circuit substrate over an integrated circuit component and a second end supporting a heat sink used to dissipate heat from the integrated circuit component. The housing includes a pocket receiving a cable module having a connector housing holding conductors and cables connected to the conductors. The connector housing has a mating end facing the integrated circuit substrate with the conductors arranged at the mating end for interfacing with integrated circuit conductors. A thermal shield is received in the pocket having an opening receiving the cables. The thermal shield has a thermal shielding wall positioned between the cables and the heat sink to provide a thermal barrier between the cables and the heat sink.

Cable connector assembly for an integrated circuit assembly

A power connector assembly includes a power rail having a power supply circuit being configured to be mounted within an equipment cabinet and a sliding power connector configured to be terminated to a host circuit board. The sliding power connector has a power contact electrically connected to the power supply circuit of the power rail. The sliding power connector is configured to be slid along the power rail as an equipment rack holding the circuit board is opened and closed during an extension cycle of the equipment rack. The power contact maintains electrical connection with the power rail during the entire extension cycle.

Power connector assembly for a communication system

A socket connector includes a socket assembly having a socket substrate and socket contacts. The socket substrate has first and second upper mating areas and a first lower mating area. The socket substrate has first and second socket substrate conductors at the first and second upper mating areas, respectively, and third socket substrate conductors at the first lower mating area electrically connected to corresponding first socket substrate conductors. The first socket substrate conductors are electrically connected to an electronic package, the second socket substrate conductors are electrically connected to an electrical component and the third socket substrate conductors are electrically connected to a host circuit board. The socket assembly is configured to electrically connect the electronic package with both the host circuit board and the electrical component. The socket contacts have a terminating end terminated to corresponding first socket substrate conductors and a mating end mated to package contacts.

Socket connector assembly for an electronic package

A socket assembly includes a socket connector including a socket substrate having an upper surface and a lower surface, upper socket contacts on the upper surface configured to be terminated to an electronic package and lower socket contacts configured to be terminated to a host circuit board. The socket connector includes first and second power contacts. The first power contact is configured to be terminated to the electronic package. The socket assembly includes a power connector terminated to the socket substrate having a power connector terminal electrically connected to the second power contact. The socket substrate is configured to electrically connect the power connector to the electronic package through the first power contact and the second power contact.

Power supply for socket assembly

A socket assembly includes a socket substrate and socket contacts mounted to the socket substrate and extending through through holes of the socket substrate. Each socket contact includes a fixed end mounted to the socket substrate, a free end independently movable relative to the fixed end, a first mating beam, a second mating beam and a transition beam between the first mating beam and the second mating beam being a monolithic structure. The transition beam passes through the through hole and is flexible to allow relative flexing of the first mating beam and the second mating beam for compression of the socket contacts between an electronic package and a host circuit board.

Socket assembly for an electrical system

A socket connector includes a socket substrate having first socket substrate conductors and second socket substrate conductors, receptacle contacts electrically coupled to corresponding first socket substrate conductors and socket contacts electrically coupled to corresponding second socket substrate conductors. The receptacle contacts have receptacles receiving pin contacts of an electronic package and the socket contacts have terminating ends and mating ends with deflectable spring beams terminated to package contacts of the electronic package. At least one of the first socket substrate conductors and the second socket substrate conductors are configured to electrically connect the electronic package with the host circuit board.

An electrical contact grid array includes a board having a top side and an opposite bottom side, a plurality of signal conductors mounted to the board, and a plurality of ground shield structures mounted to the board. Each of the signal conductors includes an upper signal contact extending beyond the top side of the board for electrically connecting with a corresponding mating contact of a mating circuit board. Each of the ground shield structures includes at least one ground contact disposed above the top side of the board that defines an upper annular shield. The upper annular shield circumferentially surrounds at least one of the upper signal contacts.
