A digital radiographic detector system includes a number of DR detectors enclosed by a housing. A base section with wheels has attached thereto a vertical column with a height adjustable horizontal arm extending therefrom. The housing with DR detectors therein is attached to a distal end of the horizontal arm. The housing comprises a major surface made from a radiolucent material to allow the detectors to capture radiographic images via x-rays transmitted through the major surface of the housing. The housing is configured to support the plurality of DR detectors therewithin.

A radiographic detector acquires a first partial exposed image signal during an image readout of each of the rows of photosensors, one row at a time. A first scan of each row includes measuring the charge delivered to each cell of the rows, including some rows having partial charge and other rows having full charge, and obtaining a first null image signal during the scan. A second scan includes measuring remaining charge delivered to those rows having partial charge. The null image signal data is subtracted from a sum of the first two scans.

A method of operating a DR detector including sequentially capturing image frames in the detector that include at least one dark image. The dark image is stored and a statistical measure for a subset of pixels in a captured image frame is compared with the same statistical measure of a subset of pixels in the stored dark image to detect an x-ray beam impacting the detector. An x-ray beam-on condition is indicated if a sufficient difference in intensity between the pixel subsets is detected. At least one more image frame is captured in the detector after detecting the x-ray beam. The current captured image and the at least one more image frame are added and the dark image is subtracted to form the exposed radiographic image.

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for obtaining an x-ray image from an x-ray imaging apparatus using a digital radiography receiver installed as a retrofit connection apparatus to adapt the x-ray imaging apparatus for use with the digital radiography receiver by using a receiver interface channel to communicating signals to and from the digital radiography receiver, using an operator actuated switch cover for at least an expose operator action of a manual operator control that is configured to generate at least an input expose signal, where the operator actuated switch cover is configured to resist the generation of the expose signal by the expose operator action of the manual operator control until a reset of the DR receiver is initiated and acknowledged.

Interposer mechanism for a retrofit digital X-ray detector and methods of using the same

Embodiments of secondary backscatter indicia; digital radiography detectors and radiographic imaging apparatus using the same; and methods for using the same can detect a secondary backscatter condition for a radiation exposure. In one embodiment, a DR detector can include a housing having first and second surfaces and a plurality of walls to form a cavity; a detector array mounted within the cavity to form an electronic radiographic image; and backscatter absorbing indicia distributed in a prescribed arrangement. Embodiments of methods and/or apparatus according to the application can detect secondary backscatter radiation, can notify a technician when secondary backscatter radiation is detected in an x-ray image or can detect and/or identify portions of an active imaging area of an x-ray detector subjected to secondary backscatter radiation.

A digital radiography detector includes a housing having first and second spaced planar members and four side walls defining a cavity. A radiographic image detector assembly is mounted within the cavity for converting a radiographic image to an electronic radiographic image. A digital radiographic detector has a detector panel that forms digital image data according to radiation exposure energy. An enclosure houses the detector panel, formed from an electrically conductive material and having a base with an inner base surface and an outer base surface and having, along its perimeter, one or more side walls that extend orthogonally from the inner base surface. A base magnetic shield extends as a layer of nanocrystalline material across at least one of the inner base surface and the outer base surface. A cover is formed from a non-conductive material and has a cover magnetic shield of a layer of a metallic alloy bonded to an inner surface. A side wall magnetic shield extends along one or more surfaces of the one or more side walls, wherein the side wall magnetic shield has at least one of the nanocrystalline material or the metallic alloy.

A digital radiography detector includes a housing and a radiographic image detector assembly. The housing has a first and second spaced planar members and four side walls defining a cavity. The radiographic image detector assembly is mounted within the cavity for converting a radiographic image to an electronic radiographic image. The detector assembly includes a scintillator screen and a detector array, and the detector assembly is bonded to the first planar member of the housing.

A digital radiography detector has a two-dimensional array of photosensors disposed in rows and columns. Multiple signal traces connect to the photosensors and extend in a first direction along the two-dimensional array. A switching power supply is connected to a power source and has first and second storage inductors that are substantially matched, are electrically connected in series, include flux fields that are opposite in phase, and are aligned along the first direction of the signal traces.
