A detachable magnetic device includes a body portion, a levering cover, a magnet-retaining portion, a magnet, and a grip material. The body portion defines a first surface, a second opposing surface, and a magnet-receiving opening. A cam portion of the levering cover is pivotally connected to an end of the body portion. The magnet-retaining portion extends across part of the first surface of the body portion. The magnet is coupled to the magnetic-retaining portion and disposed within the magnet-receiving opening. The grip material surrounds the magnet-receiving opening. The magnet is configured to magnetically couple the detachable magnetic device to a ferromagnetic object and the cam portion is configured to contact a surface of the ferromagnetic object when the levering cover rotated relative to the body portion to release the detachable magnetic device from the ferromagnetic object.

Detachable magnetic holding device

A device for attachment to a surface of a ferromagnetic object and for holding an item near the surface, including: a base with a frame and grip portion, the grip portion coupled to the frame at the rear side and having an outer surface for gripping the surface; a magnet-retaining portion pivotally connected to an end of the frame; a magnetic device connected to the magnet-retaining portion and having an outer surface displaced frontwardly from the outer surface of the grip portion; a cover pivotally connected to another end of the frame, the cover including a lifter configured to contact an end of the magnet-retaining portion and cause an end of the magnet-retaining portion to pivot about the frame when the cover is lifted and the lifter is rotated, thereby moving the first end of the magnet-retaining portion and the magnetic device in a rear-to-front direction; and an item-holding portion.

Detachable magnet device

Devices for detachable attachment to a ferromagnetic object and/or surface are disclosed. The device may comprise a core housing defining a pocket, a magnet disposed in the pocket, and a baseplate fixed to the magnet sheet assembly. The baseplate may include a pivot portion that engages a corresponding portion of the core housing to form a hinge joint such that the baseplate and the magnetic sheet assembly selectively pivot about a pivot axis of the hinge joint relative to the core housing. The camming mechanism may apply a camming force to a portion of the baseplate and the camming force may urge the magnet and the baseplate to pivot about the pivot axis of the hinge joint.

A system for providing support and position control of a monitor. In one embodiment, a method of supporting a monitor includes converting an ascending energy storage member force curve into a substantially constant supporting force against the monitor. In one aspect, a method, of supporting a monitor includes providing an energy storage member and a cam which are cooperatively positioned so as to move relative to each other along the path of motion. As the energy storage member moves along the path relative to the cam, the cam displaces the energy storage member and thereby changes a force applied by the energy storage member on the cam, and wherein the cam converts the force applied by the energy storage member into a supporting force on the monitor.

Methods and apparatus for generating force and torque

Systems and sub-systems for supplying squeegee buckets with automobile windshield washer fluid. Some systems include a fluid containing reservoir elevated above the squeegee buckets so as to gravity feed the buckets. One system includes a fluid quantity sensor coupled to a squeegee bucket for indicating a predetermined low fluid quantity in the squeegee bucket, calling for the addition of fluid. The fluid quantity sensor can be coupled directly or indirectly to a controllable fluid supply source to add fluid into the squeegee bucket interior. Some systems have continuous or analog fluid quantity sensor outputs while other systems have discreet fluid quantity sensors indicating that a low limit has been reached. Some systems utilize level sensors while other systems utilize weight sensors. One system includes a level sensor in the form of a float adapted to trigger an electrical switch upon reaching a low level. When the low level limit is reached, a valve in fluid communication with a fluid supply source is opened to allow fluid flow into the squeegee bucket interior. Some systems allow a predetermined time flow of fluid or a predetermined volume flow of fluid. Other systems terminate flow into the squeegee bucket when a high level fluid quantity is indicated, for example, by a high level limit being reached by a level switch. Systems can also include logic within controllers to detect leakage and/or pilferage and further logic to limit or stop excessive fluid usage through pilferage or leakage. The invention allows continuous replenishing of windshield washer squeegee buckets, not requiring frequent human action to refill the buckets. The present invention can be used in lightly staffed or completely unstaffed, 24-hour gasoline service stations and convenience stores, providing windshield washer fluid with minimal personnel costs.
