Methods of manufacturing a belt include, at least, laying up a plurality of cords of a belt build on a mandrel, laying up a tape adhesive on an inner surface of the plurality of cords, laying up a cushion layer on an opposing side of the tape adhesive, and vulcanizing the belt build in a profile-forming mold, where the tape adhesive is a vulcanizable rubber which is devoid carbon black. The methods may further include laying up an outer tape adhesive before the laying up of the plurality of cords, and in some aspects, tension layer is laid up before laying up the outer tape adhesive. In some other methods, the tension layer is laid up before the laying up of the plurality of cords. The methods may further include partially or fully wrapping the belt with a belt wrap prior to vulcanizing the belt.

Wrapped taped belt

A synchronous drive belt includes an outer tension section and opposing continuous tooth section defining an outer surface. The synchronous drive belt further includes a cross-linked elastomeric body, and a tensile reinforcement section disposed between the outer tension section and the cross-linked elastomeric body. A fabric reinforcement is disposed inwardly adjacent the outer surface of the continuous tooth section, and the fabric reinforcement is enveloped by the cross-linked elastomeric body. Further, the cross-linked elastomeric body forms the outer surface of the continuous tooth section. In some aspects, the cross-linked elastomeric body contains a urethane material, which may be formed from the reaction product of a polyisocyanate and a hydroxyl functional polyol during a belt molding process. The polyisocyanate and the hydroxyl functional polyol may envelop the fabric reinforcement prior to reacting during the belt molding process, or even while reacting in the molding process.

Cross-linked elastomeric low friction faced synchronous power transmission belt

A conveyor belt including a pulley cover layer, a carry cover layer, and at least one reinforcement layer disposed within the belt between the pulley cover layer and the carry cover layer. The belt has a first edge section, a second edge section, and a load carrying section. The first edge section and the second edge section are located on each side of the conveyor belt, and the load carrying section is located between the first second edge sections. The reinforcement layer is comprised of a woven fabric which has weft threads extending across the width of the belt and passing into both the first edge section and the second edge section of the conveyor belt. The woven fabric also has warp threads located in the load carrying section of the conveyor belt extending longitudinally throughout the belt without passing into either the first or the second edge section.

The present invention is directed to an endless power transmission belt having an elastomeric body and at least one treated textile fabric, the treated textile fabric including a first treatment including a polyamide and an epoxy; and optionally, a second treatment including an RFL adhesive.
