A stent-graft prosthesis for implantation within a body vessel includes a graft material, a frame, and a channel. The graft material includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a graft lumen extending between the proximal and distal ends. The frame is coupled to the graft material. The channel is configured to relieve pressure associated with pulsatile blood flow during implantation of the stent-graft prosthesis within a body vessel. The channel permits blood to flow from an upstream side of the stent-graft prosthesis to a downstream side of the stent-graft prosthesis when the stent-graft prosthesis is in a partially expanded configuration in the body vessel. The channel may be a plurality of channels.

Stent-graft prosthesis with pressure relief channels

Devices, methods, and systems for prosthesis delivery to patient vasculature are provided. A prosthesis delivery device provided herein delivers a prosthesis to the vasculature of a patient and permits an operator to deploy the prosthesis using a single action mechanism to deploy the prosthesis at a standard deployment rate and a dual action mechanism to deploy the prosthesis at an accelerated deployment rate. Deploying the prosthesis at an accelerated deployment rate results in alterations to the deployed prosthesis structure because the prosthesis is deployed with increased axial compression that results in the prosthesis having increased radial force.

Variable rate prosthesis delivery system providing prosthesis alterations

The present technology relates generally to endovascular prostheses. More particularly, the disclosure relates to endovascular prostheses having an outer surface of a graft material thereof associated with a hydrogel composition, which may swell upon implantation within a blood vessel, thereby mediating various complications associated with endovascular procedures. The hydrogel compositions can also include various stabilizing polymers and active agents to further aid their use in the body.

Coated endovascular prostheses for aneurism treatment

A venous valve prosthesis includes a frame and a prosthetic valve coupled to the frame. With the venous valve prosthesis implanted in a vein, the prosthetic valve includes a closed configuration wherein an outer surface of the prosthetic valve is in contact with a wall of the vein around a circumference of the prosthetic valve to prevent blood from flowing past the prosthetic valve between the wall of the vein and the outer surface of the prosthetic valve. The prosthetic valve is configured to move to an open configuration such that at least a portion of an outer wall of the prosthetic valve partially collapses away from the wall of the vein in response to antegrade blood flow through the vein to enable blood flow between the outer surface of the prosthetic valve and the wall of the vein.

Venous valve prostheses

A prosthetic assembly for repairing a target tissue defect within a target vessel region configured includes an exclusion structure sized to substantially bypass target tissue defect, and includes a branch assembly. The branch assembly can include a self-expanding outer branch prosthesis having an inflow region configured to deform to a non-circular cross-sectional-shape when deployed, and a support structure at least partially disposed within the inflow region. The support structure preserves blood flow to the branch vessel while the deformed inflow region inhibits blood leakage between and/or around the prosthetic assembly.

Endoluminal prosthetic assemblies, and associated systems and methods for percutaneous repair of a vascular tissue defect

A sheath of a delivery system is retracted by winding in cords coupled to the sheath. More particularly, a helical reel is rotated to wind the cords into a helical cord groove and retract the sheath. Rotation of the helical reel simultaneously causes a cord feed ring to slide ensuring that that the cords are correctly fed into the helical cord groove through cord feedthrough apertures of the cord feed ring. Initially, due to a minimal diameter of the helical cord groove, the cords are retracted slowly and with a high amount of torque, e.g., a high mechanical advantage. After retraction of the sheath has begun, the speed of retraction of the sheath is increased with reduced torque as the cords are wound around the increasing diameter of the helical cord groove.

Variable speed retraction mechanism delivery system and method

A delivery system for delivering a prosthesis includes a sheath, a slide shaft having a threaded outer surface, and a handle. The handle includes an internal spring assembly for selectively engaging and disengaging the handle with the threaded outer surface of the slide shaft. The internal spring assembly includes at least one spring arm, a head coupled to the spring arm and having a circumferentially rounded threaded inner surface, and a ring slidably disposed over the spring arm. When the ring is in a first longitudinal position, the threaded inner surface of the head is spaced apart from the threaded outer surface of the slide shaft. When the ring is in a second longitudinal position, the threaded inner surface of the head is threadedly engaged with the threaded outer surface of the slide shaft. The handle may include a resilient cover to provide the internal spring assembly with a biased or nominal operational position.

Delivery system for a retractable outer sheath

A stent-graft includes a graft material having a main body, a first leg, a second leg, and a transition region where the first leg and the second leg meet the main body. A main body transition stent is coupled to the main body. A transition stent support including a gusset is coupled to the graft material such that a transition apex of the main body transition stent is interposed between the gusset and the graft material, the transition apex being aligned with the transition region. The transition apex, which is susceptible to failure, is stabilized by the gusset in combination with a supporting ligament. The gusset and supporting ligament prevent flexing of the transition apex and the associated failure thereof.

Stent-graft having supported transition stent and method

A delivery system for delivering a prosthesis, the delivery system including a housing, a sheath extending from within the housing, a clutching mechanism housed within the housing, and a cable. The clutching mechanism includes a one-way clutch that transmits a torque from an actuator to an inner shaft assembly when the actuator is rotated in a first direction and does not transmit a torque from the actuator to the inner shaft assembly when the actuator is rotated in a second opposing direction. The actuator is accessible from an exterior of the housing. The cable has a first end coupled to a proximal portion of the sheath and a second end coupled to the inner shaft assembly, and actuation of the actuator causes the actuator to rotate in the first direction, thereby causing the inner shaft assembly to wind up a portion of cable and retract the sheath.

Delivery system having a single handed deployment handle for a retractable outer sheath

A dissection prosthesis system for implantation within a blood vessel includes a first prosthesis and a second prosthesis. The first prosthesis includes a first stent ring, a second stent ring, a first graft material band coupling the first stent ring to the second stent ring, a third stent ring, and a second graft material band coupling the second stent ring to the third stent ring. The second stent ring includes a plurality of openings that enable fluid flow from a lumen of the first prosthesis through the plurality of openings. The graft material bands may include band openings disposed therethrough to enable fluid flow from the lumen through the band openings. The second prosthesis includes a stent coupled to a graft material. The second prosthesis is configured to be disposed within the lumen of the first prosthesis.

Dissection prosthesis system and method

A delivery system for delivering a prosthesis includes a housing, a sheath extending from within the housing, a first motor housed within the housing, a first battery coupled to the first motor, a second motor housed within the housing, a second battery coupled to the second motor, and an actuator accessible from an exterior of the housing. The actuator is coupled to the first and second batteries to selectively activate the first and second batteries to power the first and second motors, respectively. A first pulley is coupled to the first motor such that the first pulley rotates during operation of the first motor and a second pulley is coupled to the second motor such that the second pulley rotates during operation of the second motor. Actuation of the actuator causes at least one of the first and second motors to rotate, thereby causing at least one of the first and second pulleys to wind up a portion of a single continuous cable and retract the sheath.

Motorized delivery systems for an enovascular device

A delivery system for delivering a prosthesis includes a housing, a sheath extending from within the housing, a first rotatable knob, a first pulley coupled to the first rotatable knob so as to be rotatable therewith, a second rotatable knob, a second pulley coupled to the second rotatable knob so as to be rotatable therewith, and a cable coupled to the first pulley and to the second pulley. The cable is coupled to a proximal portion of the sheath. Rotation of the first rotatable knob causes the first pulley to rotate while the second pulley remains stationary thereby causing the first pulley to wind up a portion of the cable and retract the sheath at a first speed. Rotation of the second rotatable knob causes both the first and second pulleys to rotate, thereby causing both the first and second pulleys to wind up a portion of the cable and retract the sheath at a second speed being faster than the first speed.
