Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and apparatus having an actuator assembly. An exemplary actuator assembly includes a cylinder body having a longitudinal axis and a plurality of passageways, and an accumulator fluidly connected to the plurality of passageways. The exemplary actuator assembly also includes a solenoid assembly comprising a core tube, an armature, a first magnet, a second magnet, and an excitation coil, the core tube extending through the longitudinal axis, the core tube having a first ferromagnetic end section and a spaced apart second ferromagnetic end section.

Electro-hydrostatic actuator

Presented are a single coil apparatus and a method of forming. An exemplary apparatus includes solenoid assembly. The solenoid assembly includes a core tube extending along a longitudinal axis. The solenoid assembly further includes a first magnet and a second magnet located outside the core tube, the first magnet spaced along the longitudinal axis from the second magnet, and an excitation coil disposed radially outward of the first magnet and the second magnet.

Single coil apparatus and method

A valve assembly includes a butterfly valve rotatably moveable between a closed position and an open position, and a shaft extending from the butterfly valve and rotatable about a longitudinal axis to move the butterfly valve between the open position and the closed position. The valve assembly further includes an actuator having a body operable to maintain an end portion of the shaft, the actuator operable to cause the shaft to rotate about the longitudinal axis, a housing sized to retain a portion of the shaft, the housing operable to be in removeable contact with the body, a seal intermediate the body and the shaft, the seal having an outer sealing surface contacting the body and an inner sealing surface contacting the shaft, and an anti-rotation interface between the seal and the housing.

Method and apparatus to prevent rotation

A magnetic gap in a solenoid core is formed by a non-magnetic brazing material bonded into a groove encircling the core in the region of the magnetic gap. A bore through a single piece core and valve cartridge is dimensioned to intersect the brazing material and remove magnetic material bridging the gap without severing the core into separate pieces. This allows the solenoid core and the valve cartridge to be machined in a single piece with a uniform diameter bore receiving a single piece solenoid plunger and valve spool. This ensures accurate concentricity of the plunger and spool within the bore, which improves magnetic performance while reducing manufacturing costs.

An electrically actuated valve for regulating a working pressure of a closed volume load includes an inlet valve (24) for controlling fluid flow between a supply port (16) and a working port (18) and an outlet valve (26) for controlling fluid flow between the working port (18) and an exhaust port (20). A solenoid actuator (70) applies an adjustable force to a movable valve element (44) for closing the outlet valve (26) and opening the inlet valve (24). The adjustable force is opposed by a reactionary force that is generated by the working pressure. The movable element (44) includes opposing areas exposed to the working pressure for scaling the reactionary force to the working pressure.

Proportional control valve with differential sensing area

A brake valve for an automatic brake system includes an actuator responsive to feedback pressure from a brake for regulating pressure in the brake proportional to an electrical signal applied to the actuator. The actuator exerts a force that is opposed by feedback pressure acting against a predetermined area of the actuator. Valves operated by the actuator provide for alternately communicating a supply of pressurized air to the brake cylinders or discharging air pressure from the cylinders. A low-flow vent valve provides for discharging small quantities of air from my valve. However, a pilot operated high-flow dump valve supersedes the low-flow vent valve for discharging larger quantities of air and permits my valve to be controlled by smaller actuating forces.
