An apparatus is for generating an emulated radar reflection signal of a target moving at a relative velocity. The apparatus includes a radar detector, an emulation transmitter, and a processor. The radar detector is configured to detect radar chirps emitted by a device under test (DUT), where the chirps are emitted at random time intervals. The emulation transmitter is configured to generate emulated radar reflection signals of the target being emulated. The processor is configured to generate control signals at intervals corresponding to the random time intervals at which the radar chirps are emitted by the DUT, where each control signal controls the emulation transmitter to generate a radar reflection signal. A relative phase of the control signals is adjusted according to a duration of each of the random time intervals between successive chirps and a magnitude and sign of the relative velocity of the target.

Frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar target emulation with synchronized modulation reflection devices

An emulation test system and method are provided for time adjusting emulated echo signals in response to a periodic electromagnetic signal. The method includes generating a scene simulation including a simulated object; generating a simulation frame indicating object transform information regarding the simulated object; calculating positions and velocities of an emulated targets corresponding to the simulated object using the object transform information; generating a ray tracing frame corresponding to the simulation frame indicating the calculated positions and velocities of the emulated targets; predicting a time point in a next feature in a feature pattern of the electromagnetic signal; calculating predicted target information of the simulated object at the predicted time point using the calculated positions and velocities; and generating an echo signal in response to the next burst of the electromagnetic signal using the predicted target information to compensate for latencies introduced by differences between real world and simulation times.

Time synchronization and latency compensation for emulation test system

An apparatus is for generating an emulated radar reflection signal of a target. The apparatus includes a radar detector configured to detect a radar signal frame emitted by a device under test (DUT), an emulation transmitter configured to generate an emulated radar reflection signal of a target being emulated, and a processor configured to generate control signals which control the emulation transmitter according to at least one characteristic of the target being emulated. The processor is further configured to determine a current radar parameter among plural possible radar parameters of the radar signal frame of the DUT, and to adapt the control signals which control the emulation transmitter according to the determined current radar parameter of the radar signal frame of the DUT.

A method and system are provided for generating a trigger signal from a radar signal received over the air from a radar under test. The method includes detecting power of the radar signal received from the radar under test at a radio frequency (RF) power detector, the radar signal including multiple bursts of RF energy in a burst pattern; identifying repeating radar frames from the burst pattern using the detected power of the radar signal, each radar frame having at least one burst; and creating trigger signals corresponding to the radar frames, respectively, by synchronizing to the at least one burst in each radar frame.

Method and system for generating trigger signals from radar signal

Capability to record relevant aggregated data via a test and measurement instrument interface through a software agent. The agent resides within the test and measurement instrument and gathers the information when activated. The information can be measurement data; measurement setup parameters; test system topology; user notes, brief descriptions, audio recordings or pen input; pictures; or attached documents. The agent can communicate directly to an electronic laboratory notebook server or can store the information on a portable computer readable media (CRM). A user can upload the information from the portable CRM to the server. The user can access the information via a PC workstation.

System and method to integrate measurement information within an electronic laboratory notebook environment

A system includes at least two IEEE 1588 nodes. The nodes are connected by two paths: a low latency communication path and a high bandwidth path. The clocks within the nodes are synchronized to one another at a network interface. Data and timing are transmitted on the high bandwidth path while critical timing signals are passed on the low latency communication path thereby improving timing synchronization.

By equipping receiving devices in a network with synchronizable clocks it is possible to periodically send an 'impulse' signal that is received by all of the clocks at the same (or relatively the same) instant of time. The accuracy of the impulse clock need not be high, only that its signal reach all the clocks approximately at the same time. In one embodiment, a transmitting device, upon receipt of the synchronizing impulse signal, sends a packet of data bearing the sending device's epoch time-stamp to a receiving device. The data packet makes its way through the network element to the receiving device and the time-stamp is used by the receiving device to calculate the difference between the epoch time of the receiver and the epoch time of the sender. Effectively, this procedure removes the unknown network element transit times from the equation and allows the devices to operate in a synchronized manner.

A method of locating an acoustic source, the method comprising sampling said acoustic source at a plurality of acoustic receivers having different locations, each acoustic receiver time-stamping a respective received acoustic sample using a system time, each acoustic receiver sending said time-stamped acoustic sample to a central controller, the central controller determining the location of the acoustic source in response to receiving the time-stamped sound source samples from the plurality of receivers.

A measurement device having a configurable measurement interface that enables the dynamic allocation of responsibilities among front-end and back-end subsystems of a measurement device. A measurement device according to the present teachings includes a front-end subsystem for performing an interaction with a physical environment and back-end subsystem having a set of resources for supporting the front-end subsystem. The front-end and back-end subsystems are coupled to and communicate through a measurement interface. The front-end subsystem transfers a set of bootstrap information via the measurement interface to the back-end subsystem and in response the back-end subsystem configures the resources to support the front-end subsystem.

A system and method of verifying metadata in a measurement processing system is described. Each combination of metadata is associated with a key, and the keys are used to verify that operations performed using the measurements are valid based on the metadata of the respective measurements. Embodiments allow metadata verification to be made prior to operating on measurements. Embodiments also minimize the processing that results from making such checks redundantly causing slowdown in the measurement processing.

A distributed system that provides performance monitoring capability across multiple nodes of a distributed application. A distributed system according to the present techniques includes a set of nodes that communicate via a network. A distributed application is performed by a set of cooperating node applications executing in the nodes. The distributed system implements techniques for generating time-stamp records for each of a set of significant events associated with one or more of the node applications. The time-stamp records provides a synchronized time base across the nodes for the significant events thereby enabling temporal ordering of the significant events.
