A power tool comprises an adjustable auxiliary handle assembly that facilities safe use of the tool by the operator while allowing convenient carry and storage of the tool when not in use. The adjustable auxiliary handle assembly comprises an indexing mechanism that includes an angled connector, a slidable latching mechanism and a handle base. The indexing mechanism allows a longitudinal handle to rotate and be locked in a position convenient and comfortable to the operator. The indexing mechanism is adjustable and can be operated with one hand (e.g., one-handed operation). The latching mechanism holds the auxiliary handle position in place while allowing the power tool to be used in high-torque/high load applications.

Impact tool

A user interface assembly that can be selectively attached to a housing of a tool, including mobile and handheld tools. The assembly can include a housing having an opening that extends through a first side of the housing. A user input device in the form of a rotatable and linearly displaceable control ring, which is housed in the housing, can extend within a portion of the opening such that the control ring is recessed from the first side of the housing. A display that can visually communicate tool information and selectable settings to the user can be positioned within the housing, and centrally located relative to a central bore of the control ring. The display, which can remain relatively static relative to a rotational displacement of the control ring, can be inwardly offset from a first side of the control ring, and thus also recessed within the housing.

A tool apparatus includes a substructure at least partially enclosing an electric motor, the electric motor in selective electric communication with a battery, a tool head in mechanical connection with the electric motor, a tool housing defining an inner cavity, wherein the housing is structured to receive the substructure within the inner cavity, and a superstructure having an inner taper configured to receive an outer taper of the tool housing to retain the tool housing relative to the substructure.

An apparatus is disclosed including a motor housing structured to receive at least a portion of an electric motor, a tool housing including a first half and a second half, wherein the tool housing defines an end taper, a tool attachment in mechanical communication with the electric motor, and a retention member including an inner taper structured to interface with the end taper of the tool housing to resist relative motion between the tool housing and the motor housing.

A diaphragm pump includes a first plate, a second plate and a diaphragm having first and second side surfaces. A fluid chamber is defined by the first plate and the first side of the diaphragm, a fluid inlet fluidly connected to the fluid chamber and a fluid outlet fluidly connected to the fluid chamber. An air chamber is defined by the second plate and the second side of the diaphragm, such that the diaphragm is retained between the first plate and the second plate. A clamp moves between a first position in which the first plate is fixedly connected to the second plate and the diaphragm, and a second position in which the first plate is disconnected from the second plate and the diaphragm to permit disassembly of the first plate, the second plate and the diaphragm.

In at least one illustrative embodiment, a lift may comprise a support frame, a pair of lift arms pivotally coupled to the support frame and configured to support a motor vehicle tire, and a powertrain including a motor and a pair of pull rods, each of the pull rods being coupled between the motor and one of the pair of lift arms. The powertrain is operable to move the pair of lift arms between a first position, in which the second end of each of the lift arms is positioned a first distance above the support frame, and a second position, in which the second end of each of the lift arms is positioned a second distance above the support frame, the second distance being greater than the first distance.

Illustrative embodiment of latches for storage cases are disclosed. In one illustrative embodiment, a latch may comprise a first component coupled to a first tab extending from a case, where the first component includes a plurality of first engagement sections and each of the plurality of first engagement sections has a first aperture formed therein, a second component including a plurality of second engagement sections, where each of the plurality of second engagement sections has a second aperture formed therein and each of the plurality of first engagement sections is engaged with one of the plurality of second engagement sections such that the first and second apertures are aligned along a common axis, and a hinge pin positioned through the first and second apertures, such that the second component is pivotable about the common axis.

Hand-held power tools with an external composite sleeve having a forward portion and a rearward portion and defining an axially extending cavity. The power tools also include an internal metal housing having a substantially cylindrical body with a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart, longitudinally-extending front posts that project radially outward from the cylindrical body. The metal housing resides in the composite sleeve. The front posts can be closely spaced to or abut an inner surface of the forward end (e.g., front cap) of the sleeve. In a front exhaust configuration, the front posts and sleeve cooperate to define a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart gap spaces, a respective gap space bounded by adjacent posts, an outer surface of the cylindrical body and the inner surface of the sleeve.
