A cooking grill or other cooking apparatus with heating drawers that may be slid into and out of a cabinet assembly like a drawer in a desk or dresser. There are two types of burning drawers, both of which have rectangular box-like shapes, with the same dimensions, so that either one of them can be inserted into the same slots in the cabinet assembly. The first type of drawer is designed for wood or charcoal. The second type of drawer is designed for natural gas. One drawer can be slid out, and the other drawer can be slid in. There are three type of cooking surfaces: a wok grill with a radially grating, a teriyaki plate with a solid surface, and a barbeque grill having apertures in a staggered array. The first embodiment has four drawers and two cooking areas. The second embodiment has three drawers and three cooking areas.

A blade cartridge including a platform member having a blade seat, and a guard member located forward of and parallel to the blade seat so as to form a longitudinal slot between the blade seat and the guard member. A first blade is disposed on the blade seat such that the cutting edge of the blade is located rearwardly of the guard member. A spacer is located on the upper surface of the first blade. The spacer includes an upper surface having a plurality of protruding members extending therefrom and extending through apertures on a second blade such that the second blade is disposed on the upper surface of the spacer. The first blade has apertures that allow debris to flow between the first and second blades and downward through the aperture in the first blade and out through the platform member. A third blade is disposed on an upper surface of the protruding members of the spacer, thereby forming a gap defined by the second and third blades. The blade cartridge also includes a cap member having staking pins extending downwardly therefrom which are used to permanently affix the blade seat, blades, spacer, and cap member together.

A scalpel including an elongated handle having an engaging surface located on the handle, a blade carried by the handle adjacent one end thereof and a guard movably mounted to the handle for sliding movement relative to the handle between a protective position covering the blade and a retracted position exposing the blade for use. The guard includes side members extending downwardly from an upper surface. The side members are positioned adjacent opposite sides of the handle and the resiliency of the guard forces the inner surfaces of the side members into engagement with the engaging surface of the handle. The guard is movably along the engaging surface in response to sliding movement of the guard relative to the handle. In a further form, the guard is slidable into a permanently locked position relative to the handle, thereby preventing reuse of the scalpel and inadvertent exposure of the blade. In yet a further form, a locking means requires a force substantially perpendicular to the axis of motion of the guard to release the guard from the temporary protective position.

The scalpel includes a handle mounting a scalpel blade at one end and having a slot opening through and between its opposite sides. A guard, including two side members straddling the handle, is mounted for sliding movement between a protective position overlying the blade and a retracted position exposing the blade for use. The side members are connected by an element extending through the handle slot and one or more resilient fingers in the slot cooperates with the element to detent the guard in one of the positions. In a further form, the guard is slidable into a permanently locked position relative to the handle, thereby preventing reuse of the scalpel and inadvertent exposure of the blade.
