A lens system comprises a first lens group and a second lens group, and is configured to form an image at a first magnification and at a second magnification. The lens system has a common optical axis in both magnifications. The lens system is further configured to form an intermediate image between the first lens group and the second lens group at the first magnification. The intermediate image formed in the first magnification is further imaged onto an optical detector. In the first magnification, the second lens group acts as a relay lens imaging the intermediate image onto the optical detector. In the second magnification, the first and second lens groups together form an image on the optical detector without forming an intermediate image.

Modular ingestible drug delivery capsule

The invention relates to a swallowable medication capsule capableof dispensing fluid medicine stored in a medication compartmentthrough a valveless exit hole. A vent holeenables ventilation of an actuator cavitywhich houses an actuator used for displacing a surfacewhich separates the medication cavityand the actuator cavity. By locating the vent and exit holes close to each other so that contact with contracting parts of the gastrointestinal tract and the exterior surfaceis not able to prohibit a pressure passageway between the vent and exit holes, creation of a pressure difference of pressures in the medication and actuator cavity is prohibited.

Swallowable medication capsule

The invention relates to an electronic pill () for delivery of a medication () inside a mammal. The electronic pill () comprises a reservoir () for releasing the medication () in response to a predefined level of pressure. Furthermore a primary elastic element () is comprised for applying said predefined level of pressure to the reservoir () via a piston () upon release from the piston () of its constrained position. The piston () in its turn, when in constrained position, induces a predefined level of stress in the primary elastic element () by accordingly deforming it. The electronic pill () comprises a mechanism () for changing, upon actuation, from a constraining configuration in which the piston () is maintained at its constrained position to a releasing configuration in which the piston () is released. The mechanism () limits the displacement of the piston () during changing between said configurations to a level which is substantially smaller than the deformation introduced in the primary elastic element ().

Electronic pill for delivery of powder medication

An electronic capsule () is provided. The capsule () has a discrete drive element () comprising: a housing (), electronics for making the electronic capsule () operable, a pumping mechanism () for dosing and displacing a substance, a power source () for powering the electronic capsule () and enabling the electronics and the pumping mechanism () to operate, and a locking mechanism (); and a discrete payload element () comprising: a housing (), a reservoir () for storing the substance, one or more openings () in the housing () for releasing the substance from the reservoir () and a locking mechanism () for engaging the drive element locking mechanism (). A kit includes a swallowable capsule () with a potentiometric sensor (), such as a pH sensor, with an unfilled electrolyte cell ().
