A condensate trap for a furnace system includes a trap inlet configured to receive combusted gases, a condensate chamber coupled to the trap inlet and configured to trap condensate, a trap outlet coupled to the condensate chamber and configured to exhaust the combusted gases, a header box inlet configured to receive condensate from a header box, and a condensate outlet configured to drain condensate from the condensate chamber. Combusted gas that passes through the condensate trap provides heat to condensate within the condensate trap to thaw frozen condensate or to prevent condensate from freezing.

Freeze protected condensate system

A furnace inducer choke and a gas furnace employing the furnace inducer choke. In one embodiment, the furnace inducer choke includes: (1) a choke body configured to engage a furnace inducer blower, the choke body having an opening extending entirely therethrough to limit an amount of combustion air entering a furnace that the furnace inducer blower is attached, and (2) a tab protruding from the choke body a distance sufficient to identify the opening when the choke body and furnace inducer blower are installed in the furnace.

Furnace inducer choke and a gas furnace employing the same

A condensation trap comprising an inlet chamber configured to receive condensate liquid through a receiving opening therein. The trap also comprises an internal chamber in fluid communication with the inlet chamber via a first internal opening defined by a sidewall shared by the inlet chamber and the internal chamber, the first internal opening located at an opposite end of the inlet chamber from the receiving opening. The trap also comprises an outlet chamber in fluid communication with the internal chamber via a second internal opening located at an opposite end of the internal chamber from the first internal opening. The trap also comprises a bleed orifice located in a sidewall shared by the internal chamber and the outlet chamber, wherein at least a portion of the bleed orifice is lateral to first internal opening.

Freeze tolerant condensate trap

A condensation management system, a furnace having the condensation management system and a cold end header box employable in the condensation management system are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the condensation management system includes: (1) a first drain hose positioned to drain flue condensation from a flue pipe of the furnace, (2) a second drain hose positioned to drain the flue condensation from the flue pipe and (3) a condensation collector box configured to collect both the flue condensation and combustion condensation from a heat exchanger of the furnace, the condensation collector box including at least one drain for draining both the flue condensation and the combustion condensation therefrom.
