Imidazoline-derived compounds are used in compositions and methods for inhibiting natural gas hydrate agglomerates. The imidazoline-derived compounds are reaction products between a tall oil fatty acid and an amine. The methods include introducing a composition downhole, the composition comprising an imidazoline-derived compound formed by reacting a tall oil fatty acid with an amine; and contacting the composition with a downhole fluid to inhibit formation of hydrate agglomerates, wherein the downhole fluid comprises natural gas or hydrocarbons.

Imidazoline-derived compounds and use as natural gas hydrate inhibitors

This disclosure relates to anti-agglomerant low dosage hydrate inhibitors that can inhibit the formation of hydrate agglomerants and/or plugs. Thus, provided herein are carboxy alkyl ester compounds that can be used in hydrate inhibitor compositions and methods of inhibiting formation of hydrate agglomerants in a fluid comprising water, a gas, and optionally a liquid hydrocarbon. Also provided herein are methods of making the carboxy alkyl ester compound.

Carboxy alkyl-ester anti-agglomerants for the control of natural gas hydrates

Polymers are provided for use in inhibiting gas hydrate formation and/or corrosion in hydrocarbon-containing fluids. The polymer comprises repeat units derived from a first monomer comprising N-[3-(dibutylamino)propyl]methacrylamide (DBAPAMA) or an alkyl, acetyl, acryloyl or benzyl quaternary salt thereof, N-[3-(diisobutyl)propyl]methacrylamide or an alkyl, acetyl, acryloyl or benzyl quaternary salt thereof, N-[3-(diisopentyl)propyl]methacrylamide or an alkyl, acetyl, acryloyl or benzyl quaternary salt thereof, or a combination thereof; and repeat units derived from a second monomer comprising acrylamide, N-alkylacrylamide, N-alkyl (alkyl)acrylamide, ((dialkylamino)alkyl)acrylamide or an alkyl or benzyl quaternary salt thereof, ((dialkylamino)alkyl)alkylacrylamide or an alkyl or benzyl quaternary salt thereof, acrylic acid, alkyl acrylate, N,N-(dialkylamino)alkyl acrylate or an alkyl or benzyl quaternary salt thereof, N,N-(dialkylamino)alkyl (alkyl)acrylate or an alkyl or benzyl quaternary salt thereof, hydroxyalkyl acrylate, hydroxyalkyl (alkyl)acrylate, acrylamido alkyl sulfonic acid or a salt thereof, a diallyl dialkyl quaternary ammonium salt, or a combination thereof. The second monomer does not comprise the first monomer.

Kinetic hydrate inhibitors for controlling gas hydrate formation in wet gas systems

This disclosure relates to anti-agglomerant low dosage hydrate inhibitors that can inhibit the formation of hydrate agglomerants and/or plugs. The anti-agglomerant low dosage hydrate inhibitors can be surfactants. The hydrate inhibitors can be used for inhibiting, retarding, mitigating, reducing, controlling and/or delaying formation of hydrocarbon hydrates, agglomerants of hydrates, and/or plugs. The hydrate inhibitors can be applied to prevent, reduce, and/or mitigate plugging of conduits, pipes, transfer lines, valves, and other places or equipment where hydrocarbon hydrate solids can form. The hydrate inhibitors can be zwitterionic or cationic ammonium surfactants.

Cationic ammonium surfactants as low dosage hydrate inhibitors

The present invention generally relates to one or more compositions and methods for inhibiting the formation of gas hydrate agglomerates in a fluid using a fluorine-containing agent and an anti-agglomerant. The fluid may be contained, for example, in an oil or gas pipeline or refinery.
