Example air duct assemblies include an air duct including a tubular sidewall that is pliable, the tubular sidewall defining an interior of the air duct, the air duct elongate in a longitudinal direction. Example air duct assemblies include a hoop disposable within the interior of the air duct, the hoop providing the sidewall with support in a radial direction that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Example air duct assemblies include a cable disposable within the interior of the air duct, the cable to extend along a longitudinal length of the air duct, the cable to engage the hoop to help support a weight of the hoop and the tubular sidewall.

Externally tensioned pliable air ducts

Example air duct assemblies include a pliable air duct supported such that the duct is maintained in a generally expanded shape even when the duct is deflated. In some examples, a series of hangers suspend the duct from one or more cables, tracks or other type of overhead support. The hangers are spaced apart and distributed over the length of the duct, and each one contributes in pulling the duct taut in the duct's longitudinal direction.

Example vehicle alignment systems for use at loading docks are disclosed herein. An example vehicle alignment system includes a sensor system to detect a surface of a vehicle, where the sensor system obtains a feedback signal representative of a spatial orientation of the detected surface relative to a reference as the vehicle approaches a doorway of the loading dock. A controller detects a threshold deviation in the spatial orientation of the detected surface of the vehicle relative to the reference based on the feedback signal. A display varies an output signal in response to the detected deviation in the spatial orientation of the detected surface relative to the reference.

Vehicle alignment systems for loading docks

The slow production rates associated with cutting machines for cutting extruded metal tubing to length are avoided in an apparatus that continually cuts extruded metal tubing (46) and which include a reel (44) for providing a coil of (42) of metal tubing (46) to a cutting nip defined by rollers (66) carrying scoring knives (68). The tubing is continuously moved through the nip by a continuously operated set of feeding rolls (70) and then passed to a set of pull rolls (74) which are driven at a more rapid rate to place the tubing (46) in tension to cause it to be severed where scored. Also disclosed is a method of continuously cutting extruded metal tubing.
