A method for configuring an enclosure used in a communications network is described. The method may include providing a group of pigtails. The method may further include routing the group of pigtails circumferentially around a subscriber termination field, where the group of pigtails is associated with an optical splitter module used to convey optical signals to a destination, and where the routing is performed in a manner that does not substantially obstruct access to at least one of a group of subscriber terminations that are associated with the subscriber termination field.

A method for deploying a telecommunications cable includes obtaining a payout arrangement including a length of cable, selecting one of the first end and the second end of the length of cable to access; accessing the selected end of the length of cable; and pulling the selected end to unwind the length of cable from the payout arrangement. In some embodiments, the cable is arranged around adjacent spools. In other embodiments, the cable is arranged within a container with access opening on the top and bottom. In still other embodiments, the cable is wound around a spool and at least one spacer.

A splitter module for a fiber distribution hub includes a main body with a first aperture configured to receive an input fiber entering the splitter module, and a second aperture configured for a plurality of distribution fibers exiting the splitter module. The splitter module also includes a fin configured to be received in a slot of a splitter tray of a fiber distribution hub, and a pin configured to engage a hole in the splitter tray. The fin is received in the slot, and the pin is received in the hole of the fiber distribution hub to couple the splitter module to the fiber distribution module.

A splitter assembly may include an adapter housing configured to support an adapter to receive an optical signal from an incoming optical fiber. The splitter assembly may include a splitter module configured to couple to the adapter via a connector to receive the optical signal associated with the incoming fiber, and to make the optical signal available to an output fiber via an optical splitter.

A telecommunications cable includes a distribution cable, a tether that branches from the distribution cable, and a tether retention block affixed to the distribution cable. The tether retention block includes a first portion and a second portion that is configured to cooperate with the first portion to secure a tether buffer tube and a strength member of the tether. Each of the first and second portions defines at least a first half-channel configured to cooperate with the first half-channel of the other portion to receive the strength member of the tether.

A mid-span breakout arrangement includes a distribution cable and a tether cable. The distribution cable has a breakout access location. The tether cable is secured to the distribution cable adjacent the breakout access location. The breakout further includes at least one length of optical fiber helically wrapped around the distribution cable along the breakout access location. The length of optical fiber is coupled to the distribution cable and to the tether cable.

A loop back connector and methods for testing lines in a fiber optic network are disclosed. The loop back connector includes a ferrule having an interface side constructed for optical connection to a multifiber optical cable. The loop back connector also includes first and second optical loop back paths, each having first and second terminal ends positioned at the interface side. The terminal ends of each loop back path are adapted to be aligned to fibers in the multifiber optical cable. The method includes injecting a signal on a first optical path at a first location, looping back the signal at a second location onto a second optical path, and receiving the signal on the second optical path at the first location.

A modular fiber optic enclosure for enclosing optical fiber connections that includes a base housing module with a plurality of sides having a front end portion and a back end portion and a base disposed at the back end portion, wherein the base and the sides define an interior region. The modular fiber optic enclosure also includes a termination module that is pivotally engaged to the front end portion of one of the sides of the base housing module and selectively moveable between an open position and a closed position. The modular fiber optic enclosure further includes a cover that is pivotally engaged with the termination module and selectively moveable between an open position and a closed position.

A post mount includes an outer body, an inner body, and a base. The outer body defines at least one aperture through which at least one fiber optic cable can enter the outer body. The inner body is configured to fit inside the outer body in a telescoping arrangement. The inner body is configured to move along a longitudinal axis relative to the outer body. The inner body defines a conduit extending longitudinally through the inner body. The conduit is configured to enable fiber cables to be routed through the conduit. The base is coupled to the inner body and is configured to secure and support a fiber distribution hub.

The present disclosure relates to a telecommunications cable including a distribution cable and a tether that braches from the distribution cable at a mid-span breakout location. A flexible closure covers the mid-span breakout location. Within the closure, fibers are broken out from the distribution cable and spliced to fibers of the tether. The lengths of broken out fibers within the flexible closure are provided with sufficient excess fiber length to allow the closure to be readily bent/flexed in any direction without damaging the fibers.

A breakout assembly includes a distribution cable, a tether cable, and at least one optical fiber. The distribution cable includes a breakout location having a length. The tether cable is secured to the distribution cable. The optical fiber extends along the length of the breakout location from the distribution cable to the tether cable. A polymeric tube including ring-type reinforcements extends along the length of the breakout location and encloses the optical fiber.
