A mobile apparatus that is automated to measure controlled and applied forces and moments to sport surfaces allowing for performance and safety assessment of athletic apparel and athletic surfaces, such as natural or artificial turf. The apparatus is capable of using not only shear and compressive forces, but also rotational moments, and all prescribed forces and moments in combination at the same or different times. The apparatus and related system can link these forces and moments together and combine them to more closely mimic behaviors of a human foot during an athletic movement, thereby applying and measuring interactions between all forces and moments at the same or different times.

The present invention is a holding case for an instrumented intra-oral appliance containing recorded data, which charges the intra-oral appliance while not in use and transmits recorded data to storage for review and analysis. Output may be further transferred to a computer, processor, phone, tablet computer, or other hardware for review by a user or technical, research, medical, or other oversight personnel. The holding case can include additional features such as custom dentition of the user, UV light, or a visual user interface.

A method, computer program product and apparatus for minimizing occupant injury by optimizing occupant restraint properties and/or actions in real time, during pre-crash and crash phases. The restraint system uses three catalogs and a database linking these catalogs. The catalogs include a catalog of possible occupant states, a catalog of possible collision scenarios, and a catalog of potential restraint control laws. The database is an assessment of injury outcome for each possible combination of occupant state, collision scenario, and restraint control law. In addition to the catalogs, the method requires four computational components: an occupant identifier, a collision identifier, a restraint law optimizer, and a restraint controller.
